Internazionale have revealed that Goran Slavkovski has joined Sheffield United on loan and not Middlesbrough, as expected.

The 18-year-old has been training with Boro over the past few days, but now Inter have revealed the he will not be heading to The Riverside.

A statement on Inter's website confirmed that Slavkovski would be heading to Bramall Lane for the rest of the season where he will link-up with former Boro boss Bryan Robson.

If Slavkovski's deal is confirmed, then one of his first games will, coincidentally, be against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup.

Inter have also confirmed that Filippo Mancini, the son of their coach Roberto, would continue to train with Manchester City for the rest of the season after joining Sven Goran Eriksson's side earlier this month.

Anyone heard of him?

No need to panic from McCabe? is this a panic loan from robson?

If we don't make a signing before the deadline its poor management... but if we do make one... its a panic?

Looks like panic to me - why do we need another striker?

6 foot 3 striker?

This mean hulse is on the move ?

He made his Coppa Italia debut against F.C. Messina Peloro, on 29 November 2006. He was also recently linked with English giants Manchester United[1].

After signing a new contract, Internazionale's coach, Roberto Mancini, has been quoted in saying that within seven years he will be the "world's best player".[cita

if he's any good Inter wont let him go.

Problem being, surely thats the same with any player thats any good?

we'll have to see, he could be an absolute legend, he might not ever play, he might be shite.... can't say until we've seen enough of him.

na na na na na na na naaaaaaaaaaa we've got Goran Slavkovski, Goran Slavkovski, Goran Goran Slavkovski!

Just realised...

He played against Sheffield FC in the friendly at the lane...

If i remember rightly he scored at least one, set one up and had a fair few shots/chances.

From the OS.....

United have acquired a young prospect with an enviable entry on his burgeoning career record.

Striker Goran Slavkovski, still not nineteen years old until April, became Inter Milan's youngest ever player in May 2006. He was aged 17 years and one month when he made his first team debut as a substitute in the Serie A league match against AC Sienna.

The striker joins the Blades on loan until the end of the season as part of the Club's ongoing and developing relationship with the Italian giants who in November played a friendly against Sheffield FC at Bramall Lane as part of the local outfit's 150th anniversary.

Inter's top young players also came over at the same time to take part in the Pele Challenge Tournament, along with the Blades, FC Porto and San Paolo at the Academy.

Slavkovski was born in Sweden and represented that country at every level between U15 and U19, boasting a record of 24 goals in 33 Internationals, but a tug of war broke out with the Swedish, Macedonian and even Croatian Football Federations all trying to woo him for their national sides.

webbo the shithouse.... I posted about him having played in the friendly long before that story came up!

On January 30, 2008 Inter reached a loan agreement with Middlesbrough which fell through after he failed a medical and would be unlikely to challenge for a first team place. [2] The next day Inter announced to have loaned Slavkovski to Sheffield United.[3]

Says it all.

Turned down by Middlesboghorror because he failed a medical according to the oh-so-reliable Wiki.

Sorry, missed the earlier quote.

I'd prefer to wait and see him play a few times before jumping to any conclusions.

I do realise that this may be an outdated mode of thinking.

:)

Quite excited about this tbh, hopefully the kid can do well. Unknown quantity so defenders won't know what to do with him.

Indeed, but if he was that good, a bit of a knock wouldn't bother Manure or Middlesboghorror.

As he's on loan, and may not even play through injury ........

Sorry, but the glass is very much half empty just now.

Thing is, the article on Wikipedia could have been written by anyone, so the so called 'facts' are often largely unaccurate and, to be quite fair, complete opinionated shite. I'd rather give the kid a chance then if he proves to be shit after a few matches then I'll wonder why we bothered, until then good luck to the boy

sorry for the double post but I agree here Steve, like when Beattie signing came about people were complaining about him being a crap buy without even giving him a chance - maybe Robbo should have listened then eh?

Lets not forget Beckham went on loan to Preston before he played for Man U and became one of the best players in the world. Inter will let him go on loan because they have plenty of striking options already who are half decent ;)

To be honest, there's a world of difference between letting a kid go up the road while still being cossetted by the biggest club on the planet, and a kid who may well be (and please God(TM) he is) a wunderkind shifting 1000 miles or so to a different country.

Maybe I've been a Blade too long to expect anything half way decent ......

UP THE BLADES ANYWAY AND ROLLOCKS!

na na na na na na na naaaaaaaaaaa we've got Goran Slavkovski, Goran Slavkovski, Goran Goran Slavkovski!

It just trips off the tongue.

I did say 'The oh so reliable Wiki' ;)

Nowt wrong with Wikipedia. You can write all sorts of tosh and it can be ages before anyone catches you!:D
