Tonight was one of the hardest games we have left for a number of reasons. It's a derby, they are in great form, have a new manager, needed to really win to get in the play offs, still smarting from the 4-2 game..........

Not many teams will play at the intensity Wednesday did tonight as it wasn't a normal game. It was like a play off semi in shit conditions with both sides scared to make a mistake which made for a dull game.

Agreed..............................well not until this Saturday anyway!

Rotherham will play exactly as Wednesday did, Wilder and Knill need to get their shit together, we can’t really afford another draw.

Will be a very similar game in terms of how they play but Wednesday do have more quality

1 off game derby wise of course. i wanted 3pts & promotion wise its a ok point as every little helps. also beat Rotherham & Brentford its 10 from 12 going into leeds

We played more long balls tonight than we have all season which played into their hands, when we did get it down we didn't get the final ball right (why did Duffs not come on?)

In the end a fair point but I feel we should have done more, that wasn't us tonight.

We clearly tried a different approach because of the bus parking shite by them at our place earlier in the season. However Wilder failed to impact the game with changes early enough. McGoldrick and Duffy should have come on after 60 mins.

Decent point but the performance was still rather poor.
Derby games are always difficult when a team sets up to stop you and pigs did it well.We always had a bit more class but ,that Doasnt mean the opposition will roll over.
I know it's ancient history but that great side of the early seventies had a tough game at Hillsborough on Easter Monday in our run in to win promotion ( 0-0 ) they wouldd have loved to turn us over.,we battled it out was a good point.

It's an okay point. I don't know why people get so carried away that we're supposed to smash any Championship side away from home.

They did a very good job in the first half of forcing us long, the weather didn't help, and we never really got going. After McGoldrick came on things looked a lot better but it was all too late.

A point away from home is fine. It's just disappointing to see yet another incredibly boring derby game. Take the nerves out of the equation and that was a shit game against a side happy to hold us to a draw.

Feels a bit trite to complain considering how well we're doing but I can't pretend I'm not a little disappointed with how we approached tonight, both from the start and the substitutions.

Just felt we were more worried about losing than usual.

Away from home. Poor conditions. Opposition on a decent run of late. Kept 4th clean sheet in a row. You get matches like that against poorer opposition who just dig in.

They lost all opportunities to put forward any argument they are in any way better.

They also don't have the better players. That is so abundantlybcleqr.

Even their dumbest fan should acknowledge that, after 2 games of our so called inferior players completely dictating the tempo.

It's an ok point away from home, no injury, no booking - Norwood on a tightrope to not miss Leeds now.

We move on to better things than they can hope to achieve.

They've been cagey ever since we did them 2-4 at home. For the third derby in a row, they've failed to turn up. They'll throw sarcastic comments around about how they've stopped us playing, but the fact of the matter is they've shown no spark or threat yet again. They're celebrating taking two points off us, rather than trying go for the three points themselves.

And all of that at home.

any point is good away from home

It was a better point for Wednesday because we are a far superior team.

Pretty fucking simple.

no proper argument there......we are a way better team but quotes & words are easy. Pleased with the point we got

Poor quality all over the pitch.
7.45 pm we kicked off and immediately launched it towards Madines head, I just sighed because I just knew what was coming, and I might as well have turned the TV off immediately.
We then continued with it for over an hour until it was obvious it wasn't working

This is not us. Why would we play a game of football in a completely opposite way to what we normally would ?

Would we play that style if we were playing Ipswich or Brentford or Wigan away ?
NO, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have.

No matter how good it gets, we still cannot alter that DNA.....If there's a big man up front, fucking hoof it

Very very strange tactics

When 2 teams press hard all over the pitch you usually end in stalemate, and that happens most frequently in high intensity derbies like tonight.

People are saying both teams played shit but that was because nobody on either side had any time - and needing time is the difference between high end Championship and high end Prem League. Man City and Liverpool players think faster and react faster.

Our players - and yes Wendy players now - can be made to be fit and well-drilled, but you can’t speed their minds up.

Wendy have players of similar quality to ours and have been badly managed - that is changing. There were no buses parked tonight, just 2 well-drilled sides cancelling each other out and 2 tough, chiselled Northern managers being honest that the effort put in by both sides was remarkable, and for both teams it was a good point, because if either had eased off at all they would have lost.

Bank the point and move on.

Glad it’s over with to be honest. Both games have been poor and uncharacteristic of our other games. Hopefully we won’t be playing them for another few years now.

Rotherham haven't won an away game in the Championship all season and have only 7 points from a possible 51 away points...

Looking at the bigger picture it is an okay point, but it feels like a bad point because it was a crap game in poor conditions & I did hope we would show a bit more quality in enough moments to win the game. Duffy on at the start of the second half, or at least on the hour mark, along with Didsy, & I think we would have nicked it. Still, it is a sign of how far we have come that I feel disappointed at picking up a valuable away point, so we accept it & move on.

It's not really about the performance though at this time of the season. It's about what you take home with you once the final whistle has gone.

We didn't play well due to a number of factors already covered, so not losing the game and getting something from it, is what matters. A bit like the Oldham point in our promotion season when we didn't play particularly well away at arkward opposition and made sure we didn't lose. Looking back it was a valuable point at s pivotal point in our season which built upon gave us success. I'm happy with the point last night. It's a decent point.

Still 33 points left to play for. Nobody has ever been promoted in March.

Two winnable home games and this is forgotten about. Would've preferred a win but also pleased we didn't get beaten.

Exactly where my head is at.

Clean sheet away from home
Didn't give them owt to brag about.
Pt closer to Leeds
Rotherham and Brentford at home next

I think it will be a good point those thinking otherwise are maybe not looking at the bigger picture win your home games and draw away gives you on average 2pts per game that will take us up I think or very close. The others will not win every game, ask Leeds how they went on at QPR.

Anyone see the graphic at the start of the game? It was only brief so I can’t remember the exact metrics but over the last eight (I think) games our form has been identical.

Bear in mind Jos was a shitshow of a manager and had them underperforming. Don’t judge them just on their league position, they’d be up there if Bruce had been in charge at the start of the season.

IMO a good point, before the WBA game if someone had offered us 4 points from that game and this one we would have took it

Tactics balls up for me, Duffy should've replaced Dowell, and I don't think Freeman had a great game, maybe Cranie would've been a better option down the right??
The hoof doesn't suit us, and until the last 20/25 mins, we didn't even resemble ourselves.
Very strange from sir Chris??????
Aiming for s point at the fucking Sty.
FFS.

The point helps us more than it does them, and keeps us ticking along in the auto chase.

Both us and Leeds have some interesting fixtures before we play each other, but I would argue that ours are slightly easier.

I fully expect them to beat Reading, although they are scrapping for their lives now so anything could happen, but I can see Brizzle turning them over at Ashton Gate.

We on the other hand have a home advantage in both matches, where we have been incredibly strong this season. Rotherham of course will be well up for it again, but I simply do not see us allowing them to over run us like last time, I just don't. As for Brentford, well they don't travel at all well and really have nothing to play for now. Neither game will be easy but you have to feel confident that we will pick up 6 points.

So assuming all those permutations come to pass we could be going into the Leeds match on 71 points, with them on 70

Whatever happens though I am just delighted with how exciting it is to be a Blade these days. Long may it continue.

You are right,I thought wendy stopped us playing ,them and the ref blowing every 2 minutes.
Good point away from home.

2 points lost last night; 2 points given away at Villa and 2 points given away at Rotherham.
We can't afford any more fuck ups IMHO
Playoffs nailed on but we all know what that means.
Come on Blades you have to get 7 from the next 3 games.
