We played more long balls tonight than we have all season which played into their hands, when we did get it down we didn't get the final ball right (why did Duffs not come on?)

In the end a fair point but I feel we should have done more, that wasn't us tonight.

Bad point. We should have won against a team in their position easily. I didn’t recognise the recent United at times tonight.

Good point, still in our own hands. Beat Rotherham, Brentford (or at least stay 2 behind Leeds) and beat Leeds and we have 2nd place with 8 to go.

If we lost tonight, we'd only be 2nd by goaldifference, which can be easily changed as its only 4 goals. Rather be 1 point clear than 4 goals clear.

More frustrated with that point than the Villa one as we played brilliantly at villa, tonight we didn’t even create a chance

Bad point cus we can play much better. We needed to win tonight to get top 2 in my opinion. Leeds are at home when we play them and will be favourites. I thought we were poor

Tactics balls up for me, Duffy should've replaced Dowell, and I don't think Freeman had a great game, maybe Cranie would've been a better option down the right??
The hoof doesn't suit us, and until the last 20/25 mins, we didn't even resemble ourselves.
Very strange from sir Chris??????

Agree with the play offs bit, but tonight should have seen us back in 2nd. As Del boy said, he who dares wins. We didn't dare tonight.

Tonight was one of the hardest games we have left for a number of reasons. It's a derby, they are in great form, have a new manager, needed to really win to get in the play offs, still smarting from the 4-2 game..........

Not many teams will play at the intensity Wednesday did tonight as it wasn't a normal game. It was like a play off semi in shit conditions with both sides scared to make a mistake which made for a dull game. To come out of the last 2 away games with 4 points is a superb return.

A good point for me. Win at home, draw away = promotion. The pigs raised their game as you would expect and it was a local derby so was always going to be tougher than an away game against someone else in their position in the league.
Ok, so we didn’t play quite as well as we could but take into account the weather, the slippery surface and again the fact that it was a derby and regardless of what people think that must affect the players, it’s got to be a good away point.
The fixture is out of the way now so let’s take what we’ve got and move on.
UTB & FTP.

I don't see it pal, they were shit, we were too predictable and we didn't use the right options from the bench to change it. We lacked a bit of quality and Duffy has that in spades.

I accept the fact that being a derby made a difference, but they should be far happier with a point than we should.

Madine isn't a starter.
We have to play long to him against big teams like Wendy.
I'd have pushed Duffy on for fleck in the last ten when we eventually found our forward thinking.
Big mentions to cranie and goldie for making an impact.

Last 10 minutes Fleck was the best player on the pitch imo

In what way? The fact that it puts them further away from the play offs than before 3pm Saturday?

There is absolute no logical reason to why it was a better point for Wednesday when we were the team away from home and have automatic promotion in our own hands

It was a better point for Wednesday because we are a far superior team.

Pretty fucking simple.

A loss against them could have had a big psychological effect on us. Win our 2 home games and we are in a great position.

The fact that we're even debating this is testament to how far we've come.

We've gone into the last 2 derby games almost expecting a win.
We smashed league 1 with a 100 points.
We finished upper-mid table in our first season back in the championship and were now genuinely contesting for automatic promotion at the business end of the season.
All while generally playing fantastic football.

Can you imagine trying to explain that to yourself past self during the defeat to Scunthorpe under Adkins on the last day of the season?

It’s only a bad point in the context that it’s them lot. They’re an in form side with lots of solid Championship players returning from injury. This was their biggest game of the season, they were up for it.

Ultimately, if we win our home games and pick up points on the road we should make it. The result is fine for us.

Both teams were terrible attacking wise. Looked like a game from 15-20 years ago.

But we needed to win, despite their half decent run theyll do well to get 70 points, never mind top 6. So it's a worse result for us than them.

Manner of the performance was the worst thing

I’m just glad it’s out of the way. They’re often shit games that disappoint as per the last three times we’ve played them. Don’t know why anyone gets excited, I don’t look forward to it. Too much pride and tension involved and the whole occasion stops any proper football being played. Neither side wanted to lose that tonight and as a result neither did enough to win.

It’s a point I’ll take and another clean sheet. We can refocus on the bigger picture now.

Appreciate your frustration, but under Wilder, "not daring" isn't something you can level at our performances often. Tonight we were poor, and deserved a point. That's all I take from tonight.
