Don Givens. He used to ghost in from the left and crack them in with his right foot.

He currently ranks as the joint fourth all time topscorer for the Irish national side

May be wide of the mark here but looking back at our legion of Dads army I think on the whole they have been more hit that miss?

People will always class players like Higginbotham as failures but from memory I thought he was solid enough. SUFC Dads army XI

Bennett

Higginbotham McGrath Marker Naismith

Speed McCall Cowans

Saunders Chief Shipperley

Help us out with a better RB than Higginbotham? some pace in that team thats for sure

Peter Withe and Phil Thompson. Maybe not. We had a Dad's Army team under Porter field.

Cowans was one of the finest midfielders I’ve ever seen at the Lane. Remember drawing Arsenal in the FA cup at Highbury in 96? What a great day. Cowans was the best player on the pitch. Nicked a 1-1 and won the reply if I remember rightly?

Plus I met Arthur Mullard in a string vest waiting for bus on Baker Street.

Always loved going to Highbury

Joe Bolton came to us towards the end of his career after long stints in the North-East with Sunderland and Middlesbrough and gave us good service. I remember seeing him score a cracking goal from outside the box for us one day at Leeds Road. A very reliable and popular character.

Got to be the one and only Bob Booker in this list.
Jimmy Johnstone, voted Celtic's best ever player at the time by their fans.
And dare I say Vinnie???
