Thought I'd post this here. John Ashdown of the Guardian wrote a tribute to his dad, which is bloody beautiful and very United.

It's the small details that got me. The talk of Filip Uremovic signing from Rubin Kazan. And this line:

United might have given him some grief over the years, but he really, genuinely, despite all evidence to the contrary, thought being a Blade was brilliant.

Anyway...it's a beautiful read.

I just read this. Beautifully written. I lost my mum, also a blade, almost four years ago and can really relate.

I lost my grandad last year, and reading it reminded me of all those little things (mostly his moaning, checking the score on ceefax and bizarre love for Darius Henderson) that brought us closer together when he was alive.

Bit of dust in my eye. Don’t know why.

Lost our dad just after the first game back in the Premier League.

Last conversation I had with him was just after Billy’s equaliser.

Fantastic read.

Something I will forever be grateful to my dad was him being a Blade and making sure that I also would be.

A special club with special people

A wonderful read and will bring back memories for many a football fan of any club

Lovely read. Puts everything about being a Blade into the right perspective.
