Maybe the big man can help out? Bags of experience and could even help
turn our desperate situation round with the sub par pies that are getting dished out down BDTBL?

Be no good for that lad at the lane pal, the pies are rationed to 6 per stand, only the lucky few get a pie, the rest of us end up with fried twigs swimming in brown water, only edable after half a bottle of Hendos n 23 sachets of ketchup!

I'd be up for bringing in a Prem 3rd choice on loan as cover.

Lee Grant at Stoke
Paul Robinson at Burnley
Stuart Taylor at Southampton
Elliott/Woodman at Newcastle

All we need is solid cover who can step in if needed and can help Moore develop.

Wrong....we need someone who can push Moore and keep him on his toes. ..he didn't have that last year, especially after Rammers left and he looked a bit complacent at times. Don't forget he wasn't deemed good enough by Championship Cardiff....just because we won the League at a canter doesn't give everyone a free pass...Moore for me is a capable keeper but he's nowt special and really needs pushing to stay at the top of his game...because that is exactly where he will need to be.

We could sign an improvement on Moore, but the problem is can't see us wanting to invest the amount of money a keeper like that would probably cost. That type of money would be better spent on other areas of the team.

A young Premier League loanee is a non starter unless we agree to offer pretty much guaranteed first team football.

So I think it's more than likely going to be an older out of contract keeper who is happy to come as back up.

Could be John Ruddy as he's a free agent after Norwich released him.

Or possibly Luke Steele, was a solid Championship keeper not so long ago, seems out of favour at Panathinaikos and may fancy returning back to England.

If we're considering a Haber, how about bringing Justin Haber back? Tragically never given a chance in his first spell...

Agree 100% on this - Oldham fan i know is desperate to get him back.

Was L1 GK of the year last season.

I don’t think he’d come here without the expectation of first team football though. And I don’t know if it’s worth putting Moore’s nose out of joint for a loanee. If we could sign him permanently and have the two of them competing for one shirt that would be great but it doesn’t seem to happen these days. Makes you wonder how we managed to keep two top keepers in Kelly and Tracey at the club for so long.

The fact that we had Kelly and Tracey for so long when we did is ridiculous and I always find myself expecting to have 2 top keepers again like the good old days. We also had Kenny and Bennett together. Since then we've had some shite with the odd ok keeper thrown in. Maybe nostalgia but was it much better back in the day when I was a young chap?!

I think a Bennet type is probably more achievable as he was a number 2 for much of his career and was coming towards the back end of his career. Not sure who the modern day equivalent would be though. We’ve tried it with the likes of Richard Wright and Ian Turner but they were both disasters. Maybe someone like Boaz Myhill or Julian Speroni?

Tell you what, if we get a decent sum from Walker's transfer I wouldn't mind us investing in Connor Ripley.

Boro are intent on signing a quality GK, and one for the long term too. Sam Johnstone seems to be their first choice. That would mean Ripley has no immediate hope of first team football with them, and they could be open to selling.

Another option could be Classic Transfer Target Andy Lonergan, who's leaving Wolves. Not one for the future but a solid experienced type who'd probably become our first choice.

Andy Lonergan!!!! Is he still going? I remember a constant clamour for us to sign him when we were last in the championship along with Sean St Ledger. Wonder what he’s up to now?

Was good once. Wouldn't you rather have a young up and coming keeper with something to prove?
No, we had one in Ramsdale and that turned out well.
Id rather have a keeper I know is going to be good enough in the Championship if things go arse end up with Moore - or he gets injured. A 'George Long' scenario would be the worst thing that could happen to us.

Shay Given is still very able. A brilliant pro too. Would teach Moore, Eastwood and the other young lads a lot.

what about Anders Lindegaard just been released by preston 33 but could be tempted to take lower wages for a year or two simon grayson wont have put him on massive wages probably around 30k should be able to convince him to take a pay cut

30k a week for a reserve keeper isn't massive wages?
i doubt any of our players on that wage and i reckon 30k is the standard wage at preston, if we can convince him to sign as back up we should be able to convince him to drop to about 15/20k a week he is 33 and might not get many/if any other offers, purely speculation

Must say I'm tempted to give you the MUPPET treatment.

30k p/w standard at Preston???

Us paying 20k p/w for a back up GK????????????

I suspect you've been playing a bit too much Football Manager sunshine. Out of interest, did you spot any CBs currently playing in the Angolan league while you were on there that Utd should perhaps be scouting?

I'm getting the impression it's difficult to find good goalkeepers?
