"Were getting another keeper, have a couple of options and are deciding on which one. Confirmed by Wilder in Marbella this morning".

Surely the Dazzler isn't going to get one right!

I'm almost certain he isn't

To be fair he told us he knew about Stearman all along, AFTER we had signed him :)

Hi guys, I've just joined this page, I have a bit of news about the goalkeeper situation. I have a friend who has done some physiotherapy for us in the past and he still has some friends there still. Anyway, he said to me that while we were out in marbella with Bournemouth, one of his mates was asked to do a 'check' (whatever that means) on Ryan Allsop, Bournemouth's 4th or 5th choice keeper, 25-26 years old league 1 and championship experience. I'm not saying we will definitely be signing him as our 2nd keeper but it seems strange to be 'checked' by another teams physio. Plus with him being 4th/5th choice, being good age and decent experience I can see it happening.

An insightful, articulate first post on here young 'un. You'll not last long ;)

Cheers Luke!

Now, let's hear about that beautiful laydee on your avatar. :)

Have never really heard much of him to be fair - but can't get to excited about bournemouths 4 or 5th choice keeper - given that their first choices last year were amongst the worst in the prem.

Doesn't massively sound like he'd be here for first team football or pushing Moore for a start so makes you wonder if we'd be as well just keeping long....

Shame we couldn't have got someone like smith on board.

Still - if he signs given him a chance.

The reason hes 4th is because they've got begovic, boruc, federeci and maybe even ramsdale in front?

Just had a quick read up on him.

Bournemouth have kept him there ever since their time in league one. Eddie Howe praises his attitude and work ethic in training in one dated article, that'll be a tick from Wilder.

He'd be backup here and nothing more really but should he be called upon he could do a decent job.

Would be happy if we just signed a old keeper, who's happy to sit on the bench. Don't see what Moore did wrong last season, defiantly deserves his chance in the squad

What happens if Moore's injured and we have to play this old keeper? How many will we concede whilst he's looking for his bus pass or rattling on about how expensive everything is.

Emergency loan? Or we bring long back. Odds are we're not going to sign a keeper that's much better than long who's happy to sit on bench

It's a bit pointless having him on the bench then. He'll just start feeding pigeons and reminiscing about how they used play cricket at the Lane.

If we buy a keeper, he should be able and capable to push Moore for the starting birth, other wise he will serve no purpose at all.

we need players pushing in every position to make the players who have the shirt play that bit harder to keep it, which is what you had last Season the only position we lacked was a keeper to push Moore, which I assume we will get if we do sign a keeper as they will have to be an improvement on Long.

Gone on loan to Blackpool by the looks of things

That was bollocks then, should fit in well.

Being fair to OP - I think there are occasions when teams use different medical teams/staff when the situation suits (i.e being abroad etc)

Could have been Blackpool asked our guys to look him over to check everything was ship shape - before the loan move as we are inpartial unlike the Bournemouth physio but training in the same place.

Reading some right bollocks here.. we need a keeper to push Moore, how is moore expected to improve if he has no reason too, we need 2 good keepers in the Championship and the one who gets the shirt is the one that impresses, not just the one who isn't as shite as the other.

We are not just paying a keeper to sit on bench and be Moores training partner. Everyone was fuming when Hammond wanted to sit on his arse and get paid why is everyone so happy to pay a Keeper to do sod all.

Most blades dream of the days when we had both Tracey and Kelly. Were they both just excellent keepers or did the completion between them drive them onto be as good as was perceived.

If we wanted someone to just sit there in spare GK skit then just keep Long

"Been told now Bournemouth have signed Begovic , Ramsdale is coming back on 1 year loan deal"

This would be an absolutely stupid move for both clubs and the player and confirm we have no money.

Might explain lack of urgency on this front.
He was there both last and tonight watching blades.

Would he come back just to warm the bench though??

Would just underline the absolute futility of letting him go for a pittance when we couldn't replace him to the same standard for a decent saving to make brining in he £1m fee worthwhile.
