It's not, it's a separate competition. The league is made up of 46 games per team.

If John Fleck had tied with Mitrovic for the golden boot, he wouldn't have won it outright by scoring that goal versus Forest.

Play Offs are a competition played out by teams finishing 3rd to 6th in the League Season. Those teams get to play up to 3 extra games than teams that don't qualify for them, so it can't be considered the same competition.

If Ndiaye wins golden boot on 25 goals and Chuba Akpom finishes on 23. Would you accept Akpom winning the golden boot if he scored a hattrick at wembley?
