Apart from when we went down to the Fourth in 81, the lowest we'd finished was 12th (the season before). We finished 11th the season we came back up, 82/83.

Excepting that, I think I'm right in saying that finishing 7th two seasons ago is the worst that it's got.

15th. A truly dismal season. Think Im right in saying if we finish below 11th it will be the third worse finish in our entire history. Seeing as we pissed the 4th it would be harsh to lump that side in with this one and the one that got us relegated to the 4th

Go on then, I'll say it. We are six points off the play-offs and a late run of form will haul us up to 6th place by the end of the season. We then lose to Burton in the semi final. It finishes 1-0 to them at the Lane and at their place. Clough goes on to win the play offs, and this time next season Burton are 3rd in the Championship.

I'd agree on one hand. But then we could and probably should have won at the weekend. This really is a shit, shit league. My optimism of victories is based on others being more shit than us on occasion rather than us being much better than we have been recently.
