I don't see why making a mistake on his debut should be a reason not to play him yet. When he does make his debut he's still as likely to make a mistake (presuming he's human!). It's only donny, can't see it being a cauldron at the keepmoat, we're so excited about it we've only just managed to shift the 3000 tickets!!

We should have brought in a tried and tested keeper who could have established himself this season and really pushed Paddy next season - at this rate Paddy may come back half the keeper he was and he'll walk straight into the team. Saying that if we ended up with someone else or Aksalu turned out to be any good we'd be cashing in during the summer.

I have nothing against Steve Simonsen and he's a decent keeper, but this is utterly pointless. Paddy is back next month and Bennett is a perfectly capable stop gap.

It's just another player that isn't good enough to get in a PL side and will not have the required level of commitment we need because he knows he's going back in a month.

I must disagree. Bennett is very old and injury prone and I could only imagine the reaction by some if Benno is injured (again) and we have to rely on some Jonny Foreigner who barely speaks any English and has never played a game over here.

Simonson is a good experienced keeper who has played more games at this level than I've had hot dinners and won't let us down.

Blackwell evidently has more confidence that we'll make the playoffs so I think it's only right that we bring in experienced keeper for the run in.

Far from it.

When a player is brought into a team, he is given a lot of support from the terraces.

Especially with this game being away from home, there would be a lot of understanding people there if he made a mistake.

Can't say much more than that as it upsets the powers that by apparently leaking 1st team information bollocks.

He's a number 2 which is the best we can expect.

I rate Simonsen and as has been said, if Bennett got injured then we would be in the do do.

Bennett is getting on yes but I would love to know what all these injuries are? I can't remember him being injured anymore than the average player and he regularly appears on our bench so I don't quite follow that

If Aksalu is not capable of playing games due to language barrier/lack of adequate experience then he shouldn't have been signed. We're hardly in a position to carry development players at the moment.

Simonsen might not let us down put he's not going to pull his guts out either because he knows he's not going to be staying long. Don't see the point at all but he will get my support like the rest of the players.

The ONLY issue is whether Simonsen is a significantly better keeper than the other options. If so Blacko has done the right thing. I haven't seen Aksalu but the impression is that he's for the future. I do believe Simonsen is significantly better than Bennett.
