Get Wilder gone and stop the delusion.

I think one thing people are being mistaken on here is what Wilder is good at.

Next season, we won't have top dollar to spend. This is the arena he comes into his own.

Next season is a Wilder type of season unfortunately, without someone with grit and pashion we could come seriously unstuck and we cannot afford to do that if the pigs manage to get taken over by someone with a bit of cash behind them.
Grit and passion? This is a guy who runs off down the tunnel so he doesn’t have to face the fans after a poor result and has overseen us throwing away a ridiculous amount of points from winning positions this season.

I’d be happy to give up that type of grit and passion and go with someone with abit of tactical knowledge instead…

I’d be happy to see him go if I had confidence that the board would choose a decent replacement

That was my exact stance last summer.

Unfortunately I don't trust the board to make the right choice and without upgrading all the other functions within the club to a more modern structure I reckon whoever came in would struggle.

This is the result of having one man having virtual total control for the best part of a decade.

The one thing COH do understand is dollars or more importantly the lack of them . Dwindling revenues compounded by probably a less than impressive uptake in season tickets should jolt them into action. Let’s be honest these capitulations are not a great incentive to renew are they 🥺

There is practically no possibility of Wilder being waved goodbye this summer, so I imagine we're set for the kind of mediocrity we're currently seeing.

There have been times this season when our games have been entertaining, even in defeat, which I more than prepared to accept, but this is tempered by the infuriating inconsistency, seeming inability for anyone to be able to last 90 minutes, and a defence which collapses like a cooling souffle as soon as it's put under pressure.

Maybe Wilder will be able to find a few more low-cost, no-cost gems and polish them up but I hold out no real hope for that.

We can't move forward without a better structure and a younger, fresher manager but we're stuck in a Back To The Future loop and, just like the film franchise, it gets weaker with each iteration.

I think there's a wider point. If you look at the managers that have got a tune out of us in the modern era, you're pretty talking about Wilder, Warnock and Basset - all managers cut from the same cloth.
We've tried international managers, ex England captains, famous players - and all that sophistication has got us pretty much nowhere.
Why? What is it about the culture of SUFC from the board room right down to the Shoreham End that means only muck and bullets managers succeed here?
Until we answer that there's no point replacing Wilder unless you have your eye on Sean Dyche or Fat Sam.

It's a coincidence, nothing more.

Good Friday? More like bang average feckin Friday from a manager and team that are treating this club in a half @rsed manner. Pashun, gone, effort, gone, tactical nouse gone.

Pigs been setting records but we must be close with 30pts thrown away from winning positions. Shirley we would have been near promotion if Wilder and the team could figure out how not to bottle it week in week out.

Time for a feckin shake down of the whole set up owners included.

Where does this idea even come from?

It still amazes me how many people on here parrot the line that Bettis doesn't want a DOF as his job would be at risk.

FFS the DOF would report into Bettis so Bettis would be his boss.

It just might take the workload off some people and make us not too reliant on one man in the medium to long term.

Just looked it up. Since 1988 we've had six promotions - and 22 managers (plus short term managers). In all that time and with all those managers only Bassett, Warnock and Wilder have got us promoted - and Bassett and Wilder did it repeatedly. 19 other managers did nowt.
That's not coincidence.
