I didn’t think Wilder coming back last season was the right move, and I also thought at the end of last season he needed to go.
I also thought this season we would be a mid table side at best with the lack of funds being a huge hamstring for us.
I’ve been delighted to have been proven wrong.
I think this season he needed to prove himself which he has done, he needed to rebuild his reputation that got tarnished at the end of his last spell and with poor spells at Boro and Watford which he has done.
He won’t get everything right all the time, everything signing he makes won’t be a huge success but he gets more right than he gets wrong.
I think a lot of the criticism and calls for his head after the odd defeat this season is more a case of empty vessels making the loudest noise.
If we go up he deserves another crack at the Premier League, if we stay down he also deserves another season too.
Sometimes you get a manager who is suited to a club and a club that suits a manager down to the ground and we’ve got that with Wilder, why change it?
