Me and my lad shielded him on the floor and stopped him taking anymore ,steward was a young kid caught in the headlights but when I looked up ,half expecting a crack myself all I could see was fucking mobile phones pointing at us ,like bleeding paparazzi. The lad was no angel himself though stood offering himself out and mouthing ,silly lad.

Bloody el Sitters, credit to you and your lad mate. Not surprised at all about the mobile phones; world's gone fucking mad!

With the accent on 'let it'. While ever SYPD insist on letting both sets of fans out a the same time, this will happen. I've long considered t's a deliberate ploy to justify the cops' presence at the game. (And I saw more off-duty bouncers doing the stewarding than coppers).

It happens time after time and the cops evaporate into thin air when it kicks off. They're supposed to keep the peace, not instigate trouble. This needs investigating, its been going on for years.

Of course it has - and not just SYPD. The Met. were warned over a week ago that Köln would be taking over 20k to The Emirates, but cue surprise when it kicked off.

Definitely caused by Blades fans in my view. I saw some elderly guy (my age!) get knocked over by brawlers just minding his own business. I turned round and went back up BL. Several knuckleheads/Grant Mitchell types just abusing away fans. The road was packed. Doesn't matter where the police were. We can't keep blaming everyone else. These so-called fans must be rooted out somehow. The team gave 100% today and were a credit to the club and so were nearly all the fans but we know what will get the headlines.

Rubbish ,it wasn't all caused by Blades ,both sets of fans went for it where the exits are ,police and stewarding was pathetically lacking.

Yep, I was there and can confirm the lack of police Initially.

I reckon when it kicked off there were 3 stewards by the gangway.

Blades "offered" themselves at the bottom of the gangway steps to Norwich fans wanting to come out. The Norwich fans decided to retreat backup the steps.

The police took....2 to 3 minutes to turn up with extra stewards to try and calm the situation down.

My opinion: Blades were goading (heavily) the Norwich fans to come out down the steps - they declined to come out. It was a serious disturbance that 3 stewards couldn't handle and backup took far too long to come.

Solution: FFS - it isn't rocket science - THE CLUB/STEWARDS/POLICE HAVE TO BLOCK BRAMALL LANE - as per the Barnsley game, and yes to the wrath of people like me that want to walk to the car down Bramall Lane - but we will just have to put up with it being blocked off.

Bramall Lane after the game is a flash point - always has been and always will be, especially when a football referee HELPS to inflame the situation by stupid decisions. It shouldn't be like this, but it is like this.

UTB

We walked out down Bramall Lane past Norwich fans and no problem from either side...surprised to hear anything kicked off, must have timed it right.

SYP? Useless cunts? No, no, surely not.

They consistently take such ridiculous measures with segregation etc yet they're nowhere to be seen in the one place trouble could actually kick off - outside the stadium, near the away fans' exits.

And the club have to pay for their 'service'.

There's surely no reason for the upper tier to be closed. It's likely that the trouble was completely unrelated to our fans who were in that part of the ground. Home and away fans will mix in that area whether the BLUT is open or not.

The lad who went down on our box near the end, blonde haired player, number 23 I think?, was signalling to the bench he needed to come off, then got up and continued playing, he was laughing and waving at the south stand fans as he left the pitch at full time, trying to wind people up, players need to remember they get out in one piece, their fans don't always. Reckless behaviour.

I don't condone violence but players winding fans up can only be a bad thing.

A right little shithouse wasn't he? He was clapping towards the BL upper as well. It all started kicking off then and I knew at that moment that it would outside.

Norwich players do not have to accept one iota of blame. Football hooligans are all childish, selfish, dickless pieces of shit. If you are incapable of behaving like an adult at a football match, regardless of what has happened on the pitch, you've nobody to blame but yourself.

1st things 1st i did nothing & would never thing of hitting anyone at any point. but i say always football matches have the habit of turning ned flanders into the hulk. in 20/20 hindsight of course its horrible but there was alot of anger & tension. you cant seriously tell me the goalkeeper is innocent as celebrating towards the kop was 1 of the stupidest things ive seen at the lane because it was already a volatile atmosphere that been bubbling for 1/2hr so he goes & chucks more petrol on the bonfire.

yes we want no violence at football. i would never want my 9yr niece to see that. but stop being naive & idealistic. start being realistic it human nature in any walk of life anywhere you only poke a bear so many times before it will bite back & football fans stereotypically have had a few pints & have short fuses.

i dont want to condone the fighting but we have to be realistic the rumoured fighting outside wouldnt surprise me, as end of a game was a ticking timebomb waiting to go off & Norwich players have to take there share of the blame because the keeper didnt help & was asking for trouble, when goading the kop at Full Time fanning the flames of some pretty angry fans who wanted to grab goalkeeper by the throat

& all it would take was 1 word said out of turn either way. it would all kick off like it did. im usually a calm man control his anger but tension was high with me so other with shorter fuses. sounds horrible but im amazed it was just 2 or 3 that got hit

Their No 23 needs an invoice for the NHS and SYP bill.

Perhaps he could go halves with the Kraut cunt over settling it.

Not condoning it but most reports are that their fan who got knocked out was offering people out. And there is no doubt the actions of their players and keeper in particular led to a more volatile atmosphere.

There was one heading to the ground who had clearly had too much turnip.

What kind of emotionally retarded morons get angry enough about a football game that they want to attack other football fans?

I can't think of anything more pointless. These kind of people can't control their emotion, a trait you find with low IQ.

Their no 23 was also goading the Kop after they scored. Doesn't excuse our numbskulls, mind.

Well said, If I could give this a thousand likes I would.

Apparently calling all and sundry out and someone said "yes" and knocked him sparko.

I don't know who got assaulted on BL but he looked in a bad way. Got decked with one punch and he hit his head on a curb on the way down.
Was laying flat out surrounded by paramedics.

Plenty of Norwich took refuge in the BL upper entrance with me, my lad and a few other Blades. It was going off outside alright. One of the Norwich supporters was a middle aged lady who saw the lad get knocked out right in front of her. She was properly shaken up and me and her other half were trying our best to calm her down.

Fucking tossers whoever started this. My young un saw the ugly side of football today.

Oh and I will add that I didn't see one member of our finest SYP whilst all this was kicking off, not one anywhere near the away supporters entrance. Anyone with half a brain knew there was a high chance of aggro after that result so why not position themselves nearby just in case.

Saw the incident you mention. Never good when
According to twitter there were a group chanting about Billy Sharps son where the lad got smacked, no confirmation that this bloke was one of the ones chanting though.

Absolute bollocks mate.

Saw it all close up and whilst some Norwich were happy to trade, heard absolutely nothing about Sharp. One was singing we love Wednesday.

Luckily I shot straight off from rob South Stand and straight to the pub, so missed it all.

There really needs to be a police presence on Bramall Lane. As others have said it is a flash point and in particular, as it is so narrow with all the coaches blocking the road. It's a recipe for something happening and I try and avoid it.

Blade for sale was bang on in his reply to you.

Is this the guy that applauded the away fans rather than leave the pitch after going down injured. It was at that point I felt the atmosphere turn very hostile

From the SYP twitter page:

The game was classified as low risk and therefore all security was provided by SUFC, no police presence at all.
There have been no official complaints or reports made against sheffield united fans regarding the incidents.
There were no call for assistance by any fans, security, or anyone present at the time.
Two people were however arrested for assault outside the ground, both of which were Norwich fans.

Also notice that anyway asking syp about it on twitter we're essentially told to go away, we're not interested.

Make of that what you will.

I went to Sunderland the other week. Walked past hordes of pissed off home fans afterwards. Kept my head down and got on the coach

Been to Millwall twice, wore colours last time. Kept my head down and didn't get any trouble.

I'll cut a long story short and just say I've been to countless away matches and haven't had so much as a sour look from anybody because I mind my own fucking business and I don't provoke people.

If you're an away supporter and think it's ok to display aggression towards home fans then don't complain when you get cracked.

I have zero fucking sympathy for anyone affected by the simple law of cause and effect yesterday.
