Overplaying in the final third, waiting for the opposition to reset then trying to pass surgically through 10 defenders..

Passing it about on the edge of the box, and you could see tonight Burrows has been told to cut it back to Hamer instead of the early cross which was so effective early season...

That's wilders decision.. edge of box and passing it 100 times ..

Very disappointing but agree, it's the overachievement that's given us hope. Just don't have the quality or composure to outwit teams that park the bus and defend a narrow lead
He’s got top top championship players on frees, his signing (or the board?) of Cannon was and still is absolutely bewildering. Doesn’t fit the team, hasn’t got any footballing intelligence and makes us worse.

Wilders tactics to coast in most games after going a goal up has caught up with us, piss poor tactically, a piss poor way to set up a team full of quality players.

Folk will continue to ride the meat stick though as he’s “one of us”.. were he one of us when he were slagging all and sundry to fuck whilst taking us down? Were he one of us when he slid out the fire exit?

I think the result tonight has all but confirmed we’ve fucked it, wilders fucked it, the tactics he employs fucked it, and hopefully he’s fucked himself out the door in the process. We want innovative, tactical attacking football? That’s not coming from Chris I’m afraid.

Individual magic from some of the best players in the league has helped us exceed expectations, not Wilder

I don't disagree but Wilder still deserves credit for rebuilding a threadbare team/squad.

I had us down to finish about 10th before the season started so I don't even really know how I feel at the minute.

We've kept up the pace all season but now the finishing line is in sight we've fallen flat on our faces.

The thought of entertaining the play offs again is already giving me a headache.

Some strange team selection's for me, never understood the affection for Brewster or Robinson, for instance. However, Wilder has rebuilt this team. The disappointment at seeing the wheels fall off is partly down to the unexpected success. The injuries to Souttar and Arblaster were a massive blow. I don't think we have really looked the same team post xmas, but have gutted out results.

Saying he's overachieved with us this season is a massive disservice to the players. He recruited well in the summer, but we've won through moments of brilliance rather than outplaying teams. He also recruited awfully in January, like he does anytime he has some money.

Wilder has greatly exceeded expectations this season.

But to throw it away like we have done in the past two games is shocking.
Based on performances this season - not results it was bound to happen at some point
My gut is not looking forward to Plymouth at all

Is this one of those look whst you could have won competitions

We won't win 2 legs of a playoff semi certaintly not on current form
Be just as well, it will be embarrassing to watch about a million Sunderland fans around the stadium and our end half empty, and then the club will wonder why more tickets didn't get sold when only loyalty points holders can buy one, even though they released them to general sale two days before kick off and allowed the non attending casual fan to buy only one
