Try and keep him

and then GIVE HIM THE BALL with instructions to run at the defences of opposition

Berger I’m on about … was the only player when he had the ball last night who didn’t make my face resemble someone sucking a lemon and my body twitching uncontrollably.

He is calm - has control - an eye for a pass and the opposition , at this level, can’t deal with him

Time to stop forwards in every sense Mr Berger

Think Sander and Flecky could be awesome together....not only did Sander go forward but tracked back as well...unlike in his games under CW and Slav
Think also I have noted is, when you watch some of the training videos released by the club on youtube, they look happy, and relaxed. sander especially.

When he steps on the pitch he needs to believe he's the best midfielder in the division and dictate the game. He has the ability to do it but there's only been a few games where he's showed it.

I love the guy, and hope he stays and shows the division what he's about. I still think he needs an enforcer next to him to do the dirty stuff, but I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in a confident team with belief.

I hope Flecky can be Sanders Coutts

Decent for Liverpool.

Hourihane and Norwood look much more comfortable playing together, Fleck and Berge returning from injury and looking to re-establish themselves, Ndiaye and MGW providing the flair / creativity - suddenly the midfield looks a lot less of an issue than it did a couple of months ago!!

The bloke could be an absolute wrecking ball to the opposition.

Whilst we haven't seen it consistently this season, he's so composed in possession. There's no doubting that he strengthened our performance last night.

The ball he threaded over the top of 2 or 3 Fulham players, whilst under pressure, to put Bogle in was sublime - Bogle should have done better with it really and 2 nil would have put the game to bed.

It's clear he has ability. He took the ball forwards into the opposition half yesterday twice but taking the first time as a case in point, he stopped and turned and went backwards. This is with the Fulham players clearly going 'oh shit, I'd best stick a challenge in here' which is great, because he has the deftness to skip past that, Currie-style. Sander needs to make the most of these situations and opportunities to leave the opposition in his trail and push on toward goal. opening the advantage out further. Again, like N'daiye, he is in the shop window and has to show PL teams the abilities he has. Stopping the momentum and passing backwards isn't the way.

You can’t pick the odd bit of class, say do lots of that and less of the rest, to fashion the player you imagine they might be.

Our record with Berge it the team is totally and utterly shite, for over two years under three managers. He has done nothing, zero, to merit a guaranteed startling place. It’s horse shit to suggest he should.

If he’s as good as many say, it will become obvious without all the ifs and buts, the Berge bingo, and he’ll actually earn his place.

Agree - he has , i believe , what it takes to drive us forward - perhaps Hecky and the boys can coach him to do so . He's as smooth as silk and glides over the turf - but we need it going forwards , not backwards

Can’t get excited about Berge. Even tho I rate the lad, because it just seems obvious to me he’s in the shop window. if any PL club sticks a bid in remotely close to PA’s asking price then it’s toddle pip

Until then of course he gets my full support, as do the other players

He looked good last night, really impressed out of possession as his size and physical attributes obviously panic opposition players.

It was interesting to see him in a situation where we weren’t dominant in possession as he stuck to the task well.

I think if we can rotate him in for the others as required it will work really well until he’s fit. At which point he should be smashing the league if he’s as good as we’ve been told.

Gutted to see MGW pick up a knock. But it was a nice sub to be able to bring on. And his crowd interaction was admirable.

Bit harsh considering the majority of games have been in a struggling PL team and with a player that was put into a position he hadn't played before ie: RCM.

The quality he's shown has been spasmodic, but for some, this division is pretty average having what we've seen up to now and the belief of some is, given the opportunity in centre mid, he should make the team better than what it is.

Top 2 is probably unobtainable, but can we hit the playoffs with a team steamrolling the rest.

Did wonder whether he was thinking didnt want to get tackled here dont want to get injured again. Couple of times though he looked a bit nervy.

You can tell Berge is a very good technical player just by the fact that when the ball was fired at him by another hurried Utd pass/clearance he was able to control it, bring it down, take a touch and either run with it or lay it off. He had that ability to control the ball without either doing a daft trick which didn't come off (MGW was doing that all night though I really do rate the lad ordinarily) or just giving the ball away cheaply through a daft ball or bad control.

Defensively last night we were great, on the ball we weren't too good. Sander was a step up from the rest of the Utd players when we had the ball. Good players look like they have more time on the ball. Sander does. Just got to keep the soft bugger fit now.

I prefer him alongside Norwood. Always looked bang average in the deeper role last season.

Sorry fella, but once again it’s Berge bingo ;

Struggling team
Out of position

He’s been played in numerous positions, by numerous managers, and failed. The team was astounding when we wedged him into it. Our form and quality dipped immediately, because of him.

How he now gets the free pass, that escaped those who actually earned us that lofty position, has always been beyond me.

I’m happy to give him his “fifth” chance, but the call for a guaranteed spot, seemingly supported by a few here, is totally baffling.

Penis envy I think
That, or just basic analysis of the facts in front of us, rather than the “klopp once said he was great” bullshit.

When the facts change, my opinion will.
