Any indication at which ground photo was taken, please.Bob Widdowson was a lot taller than Hodgy but he remained an understudy to Hodgy for many years. Fred White was a lot bigger than Jack Smith and Ted Burgin but he was usually the reserve keeper. For Wendy you can see how big Ron Capewell (far right) was in the below photo but he was the reserve keeper to Dave McIntosh who was a lot shorter.

Just found a photo in 1961 when the North Stand was built. You can see the South Stand opposite and it looks like you are right but it wasnt rebuild, just that it became all seater in 1966 ready for the World Cup and then a new tier was added in 1996 ready for the Euros.Yes the stand is the one prior to their South stand now.

Is this Albert?
Yes, QuixallIs this Albert?
Anyone know what his role with us will be?
He played 34mins of Championship football as we were relegated to League 1 with a 4-0 hammering by SwanseaTel Kennedy would have had a very good career but for the knees.
He looked comfortable at Championship (?) level when I saw him play for us. Such a shame.
At least he won the lottery though!

Willis was a pro for 4 years before Wilder arrived and neither Wilson, Weir, Clough or Adkins thought he was good enough for the first team. Even in meaningless fixtures (of which there a few at the end of each season when we either had nothing to play for or were already in the play offs).George Willis was more highly rated than George Long, but was released by Wilder as soon as he took over. Good to see him back on the scene, always seemed like a nice lad
Quixall? I would think so!Is this Albert?
Didnāt have the growth spurt he needed in his late teens for him to make it as a professional keeper but he was very good in the academy sides agile, athletic and a good shot stopper.Willis was a pro for 4 years before Wilder arrived and neither Wilson, Weir, Clough or Adkins thought he was good enough for the first team. That must say something.
I believe after speaking to one of his mates, he is now the U21 Manager (Head Coach). Sounds like Gary McSheffery has stepped into a first team coaching role, leaving the position vacant for George to step into.
