You almost feel like you know some players with how much of themselves they give to their performances. Nobody personified that more that him.

A better player than he got credit for. A brilliant teammate who was loved by his colleagues. A fan favourite who never once shirked a responsibility or gave less than his all. A young man with a wife and child who'll grow up with a chasmous hole in their lives without a husband and a father.

I remember when we played Reading his brother came on late on as they were trying to get a goal and to get in George's head Sam Baldock took that opportunity to tell George he was going to be a uncle and apparently George was running around after him asking if it was true!
