There’s no way that second half was only due to tiring.
First half was outstanding in my opinion.

Granted some were knackered but we’ve tactically decided to come out second half and sit off them, don’t understand why.

Have you thought that maybe we didn’t tactically decide to sit off.
Maybe.....just maybe.....think about it....maybe Derby upped their game and were better than us in the last 30 minutes.
Maybe the reason we were poor 2nd half because Derby made us look poor.
However if O’Connell had scored that late header that was cleared off the line then many would be saying it was a decent performance.

We should drop this sense of entitlement that we’re the best team and should be dominating every team for both halves.

A few things came to mind when I was watching the second half & trying to figure out why we looked off the pace after a great 1st half. Fitness could have been an issue for one or two players, given the very high tempo we set trying to get level, I agree Freeman looked like he was blowing out of his backside & Norwood started making misplaced passes, so physically or mentally tired it has the same effect, but the way players are trained & monitored these days it would surprise me, for whatever reason there was a clear shift & we need to find out why. Of course it could just be that Derby imposed themselves on us in the same way we did to them 1st half.
Also, CW has "fixed" what he saw as problem areas for us last year, ie Hendo, Egan & Norwood, & they have made us better, that is indisputable surely, but we are SUFC & we don't have the money to completely rebuild a team in one pre-season, so our other problem areas, ie upfront & a Duffy replacement, would I think be his priority, maybe Woodburn was meant to fill one of those places but so far it hasn't panned out.
Still, it all seems a bit churlish to grumble; I am delighted by our progression over CW's leadership, our style of football is great to watch & it is clear we are going in the right direction; sure there will be bumps in the road, but IMO last night wasn't one of them, for 44 minutes of the 1st half a big spending team with a "spotlight manager", who incidentally are much further down that road than we are, couldn't get the ball off us. We had one cleared off the line near the end otherwise we would have gotten the draw I thought we deserved talking the game as a whole, but losing the game doesn't alter what I have written above, lets not get too "massive" & keep the faith.

We simply weren't good enough today.

It was a pretty boring game of football to be honest. Derby had two chances and scored two goals, we had one chance and scored one goal.

The substitutions by Wilder didn't make any sense to me. The Derby players must have been so relieved to see our best goalscorer and most creative midfielder going off.

All in all, we were shit and Derby fully deserved the three points.

I disagree with the boring comment but agree with your assessment of the subs and our players tiring. Wilder went to a flat midfield when he took Duffy off and left Mcgoldrick on. Mcgoldrick was left on as he is is a link man and in theory should bolster the centre of the park better than two out and and centre forwards would do; as he drops into these areas. The shape change and subs were made with this intention: to shore up and even outnumber Derby in these areas.. The problem with this theory was our midfield sat too deep; Goldie was knackered and we couldn't get out. Our wing backs were also screwed and didn't engage their wide players. They put four or five good balls in before the killer blow. Moving forward, I see the same problems I saw in the summer: we need a number ten type to rotate with Duffy, and another top end centre forward. Our changes should be made to maintain the style of play, not abandon it. We don't have these players in reserve. I thought Duffy was under par, Mcgoldrick was poor and Bash was poor Despite this we had a good side worried for a large proportion of this game. That's the positive.

Don’t agree to be honest.
I don’t have any sense of entitlement that we should be dominating Derby away for 90 mins.
But I was there, and for me we were far the better side first half, and we’ve tactically got it badly wrong second half. They also had good chances first half, the game was so open, so we’ve decided to change at half time.
For me Derby were more than happy slowing the game down second half after we’d got in behind them time after time - they didn’t build up any real pressure or push us back for me, and the goal game from nowhere, a good cross and good movement.

Shit? We completely bossed the first half.

Typical dummy spitting after a defeat post.

We created one chance in 90 minutes of football.

Nowhere near good enough.
Aside from that being completely untrue, “not good enough” isn’t nearly the same thing as “ shit”.

Your conclusion is just so far wide of the mark to be nothing more than laughable.

We all spit out dummies out from time to time, it’s just best to avoid recording it for public scrutiny.

What chances did we have other than the Basham goal?

And you've misquoted me.
