Gary Speed RIP

Speaking as someone who has been where he was, very recently, the reminder of his death today really got me in the feels. It's hard, because I was (and still semi-am) in a place where I don't want to live any more, but then it's hard to reconcile that with being sad about the waste of Speedo's life and what it continues to mean to his friends and family.
 
Felt a bit gutted that he took the Wales job not long after taking charge of us I thought he could've done both,I like to do that on footie manager but looking back one job was stressful enough and I can understand his situation now and proper miss the guy.

Me to mate I tried taking my own life on several occasions due to mental health and I only get 3 day scripts now in case I do it again,my door got kicked in from the police because I was near enough gone the housing association raised concern thankfully.

It's better I wouldn't say it's fantastic mate I literally don't have any mates round here and no family coz they have there own lives and don't care about what I'm doing which is literally sat in my flat doing nothing day in day out and life get a depressing,the reason I don't have any mates if anyone is wondering is I tried to make mates round here and in 2 years I've been assaulted,burgled twice and get abuse on the street coz I'm not from here and I'm mixed raced its a very old school culture here if your face dunt fit mentality.

It's not really the racism that annoys me it's just a really small town near Middlesbrough and they haven't had much interaction with others apart from whites,but whenever I come to Sheffield I notice the difference I stayed with my uncle up pitsmoor and some of the abuse white people got around there was unreal,it's the fact I have no one in my life and coming on here sometimes brightens my day.

Dunno if you guys are aware of the Mental Health thread over on General Chat started by someone who seems to have had been through a similar dark place as yourselves. Don't know that it's even relevant to your circumstances - but it might be worth a read and it might just provide something to make things a bit better for you.

Either way - hang in there both - keep talking to each other if it helps - and I'm sure every single one of us on here is rooting for you and hopes you find your way to better places soon.

Hope so mate coz I'm feeling really shit again I've just had the police round coz an alcoholic guy who lives in this building was pissed up and couldn't find his way home when the police tried taking him back to his flat they walked past mine and the copper said to me that he shouted "that 4 eyed black bastsrd is getting it" haven't done fuck all wrong to no one just try to help.

Sorry if this sounds preachy but always remember that there are joys to be had in this life even in the simplest of things and for every unpleasant excuse for a human being there are many more decent ones and there's always someone who will lend an helping hand.

Glad if this forum helps, it can be toxic at times, but there's a lot of very knowledgeable Blades on here many of whom are hilariously funny to boot.

Know there is a lot of good blades around but sometimes some just jump on you,sometimes I take a few weeks away because my views sound good at the time but then some people jump on it,I've not long been diagnosed with autism same as my daughter and sometimes I say stuff I don't really mean and I'm trying to adjust to this life.

It might be good (though perhaps wishful thinking) that some folks would take this on board and cut you a bit of slack then. Or at least PM you with some helpful pointers rather than just putting the boot in.

Perhaps think about hitting the report button if their comments are too far bellow the belt?

Unfortunately some do need to belittle others in order to get a sense of their own value. This is very flawed thinking. Our real value is in the way we choose to live our lives and the compassion we show to others.

You need to be careful on social media. It's normally the gobby nasty ones you are quick to jump in.
There are plenty of good people on here, trying to ignore the idiots isn't always easy!

My kid brother has autism. More severe than you as he wouldn't be capable of communicating as you are on this forum. Keep your chin up buddy & give me a shout if you need someone to talk to.

Cheers mate I'm verbal but sometimes I get things mixed up or wrong way round I'm proper trying here to make it readable,my daughtgs is proper bad she does to a school called cstcote you might have seen it Phil is ally donated some cash to that school

I know how tough it is pal. Don't feel embarrassed to let people know up front about your autism. It helps people to understand.
 
RIP Gary. Some posts here are personal and imo pushing things. I assist all my colleagues if help required with tidying up the effort they have put in. They are very appreciative with supportive assistance which is why they approach me. Back to the OP and I hope the family are keeping well. 😎

I might have got the wrong end of the stick. Gary Speeds death was tragic, and also is a starting point for people to realise the hidden problems many people carry, especially men in silence. Any opportunity for that to change, and those people to speak up, is good.
