The only positive is that he's used him before so knows what he can offer. Let's face it; we've technically got a premiership defender in Nos on loan and I'm pretty sure none of us rate him. Roberts is only 24 so maybe has something to offer. He can't be worse than ERTL or Nos back there can he?

Edit: just saw he's a midfielder. Let's hope he's coming in because he's realised Doyle was a pointless purchase.

roy carrol is very unfit and was sent off in a reserve game, if we need a keeper(chuckle) then bring in a young, half decent lower league guy and let dick wright coach him or promote a youth player to bench, maybe give him a coupla starts or ends to games.

I think playing one of the kids in goal atm would be very detrimental to any progess he might be making. We have a makeshift back 4 of which loanees are the majority, I think if a kid was to be promoted, it'd need to be with a settled back 4, i.e. next season where the chances are it will be Morgs, Collins, Lowton and A.N.Other, or maybe I'm being too cautious?

I seem to remember that same positive was used with regards to Doyle!

I haven't ruled out that Doyle may well still do a decent job for us - for about £10K per week less than Monty - though he's not off to a good start. I'm much more concerned about Collins.
