Gary McShefferey would be a great buy- because he played on the left side of midfield for brum(and can score goals from there)- but would not want Hulse to go

Mmmm tough one.

Hulse injured may not come back as good but still decent at this level.

McSheffery would solve our problem down the left side and is a quality player in this league.

I want both can't they have Horsfield instead. :D

Gone To Forest

Nottingham Forest have completed the loan signing of Birmingham City striker Gary McSheffrey.

The 26-year-old joins the Reds for an initial 29-day period and is available for Saturday's game against Swansea.

Boss Billy Davies said he was looking forward to working with McSheffrey, whose loan spell could be extended.

"He's a player I've admired for several years. He's a major threat both as a creator and scorer of goals," Davies told the club's official website.

"It's a fresh challenge and I'm sure he will be a great acquisition for us."

Forest have the option to keep McSheffrey at the City Ground for longer than the initial 29-day stay if the deal works out.

However Birmingham will then have the right to recall the player if they want to.

McSheffrey, 26, joined the Blues for £4m from Coventry in 2006 but has fallen out of favour at St Andrew's.

I'm not disappointed really.

Wasnt his game against us the first he has played in 3 months because of injury? He did quite well when he came on, looked like a threat.

i,ve got to say i rate him as a good footballer so whether he'd fit in with us is another story

Clubcall are reporting the same.

id be happy to get him few months seems to score at this level. dont think premiership for him..

Dont need him, our saviour is already here.

Arise Sir Creswell of United :D

hasnt he played as a wide man for most of his time at birm??? im not sure if hes an out an out striker? can anyone tell me? could be ok for a few month tho

another has been !

At 27? - the rest of us are buggered then - I think I will book myself into Happy Days Retirement home now!

Couldn't we have said that about players like: Saunders, Booker, Stuart who all played great football for us and two of which moved on because of how well they had played?

2 things...firstly why do 'these' players always find their way to us long after they are past their best...Akinbiyi and Cresswell are 2 off the top of my head

secondly...don't forget Speed...I have...I can't recall much about him playing for us except that his injury and absence co-incided with our pick up in form and run towards the play offs!!!

I must of blinked and missed his good spell during his career.

sheffield telegraph confident he is joining, we would need to play to his strengths ball on floor would be happy to have him
