next weeks head to head with Fulham is the defining test of our credentials
get a draw there we will make the play offs
win there we definitely make the play offs

we owethem for the 5-4 game, we cant be as profligate with our chances against them
and of course need to keep them at bay
football history says its a 0-0 , always is when theres been a goal fest

that would suit me

They have been on fire for a long time now, I suspect they won't keep that up until the end of the season but still think we will have our work cut out against them. That being said it was hardly a mismatch first time around and we have enough players in form to give it a good go.

Let's get Burton out of the way first though. They are scrapping for their lives and more than capable of pissing on our bonfire.

As tough as it gets IMHO. We need to be at our very best to get something out of this one although lets focus on Burton before worrying about Fulham.

Not sure if I agree.

Think Fulham are better than us, they’ll finish 2nd or 3rd.
So I don’t think it really matters what happens in that game, write it off as a defeat, anything else is a bonus.
It’s the other matches that count. Boro at home, Brentford away and Bristol C will probably be bigger matches.

Have noticed that Fulham tend to struggle when teams park the bus, they have no physicality and can’t break down packed defences.
The problem is we don’t “park the bus”.
We’ll probably attack them and that’s what Fulham like as they are really good on the counter attack.

At least the away win at Reading takes the pressure off this one. I wasn't looking forward to the possibility of going there having not won last night.

Can see this being another high scoring game as both teams will be at each others throats. Would be an ideal game to be on Sky for the neutrals.

I think we will narrowly miss out on this by the odd goal.

All I want from this fixture is 100% effort - that will do me as at this current rate Fulham could finish in the autos.

Fulham did to Wolves what Wolves did to us recently - absolutely battered them.

Another good performance and win against Burton will see our league form going into the Fulham match at WWLWW - not too shabby!

The irony with the Fulham match is

If we’re positive we’re almost gauranteed to lose.
If we play a Wednesday park the bus style using Danial Farke gamesmanship time wasting tactics then we have a realistic chance of scraping a boring 0-0 or with Brooks coming on as sub could get a 1-0 win.

Will be interesting to see if Wilder is brave and goes for it, knowing we’ll play into Fulham’s hands and probably lose.
Or does he take into account Fulham’s strengths and has us set up playing spoiling defensive tactics.

We have only kept an away clean sheet once this season and that was against Bolton at a time when they were struggling to score.

Whatever the outcome I very much doubt that it will be 0-0.

Fully agree but.....

Wilder will still go out & play our style. Let them adapt to us.

Take Bristol city for example 1-1, down to 10 men & he makes attacking changes to try for a win.

So refreshing after the dross of his predecessors

We can only play one way though every other style sees us going backwards rapidly... attack, attack, attack!

Fulham were brilliant for most of last season. Played great football. Still ballsed up the play offs. All the pressure is on them

Really hope he doesn't drop Duffy again and go with the flat 3 midfield who will create absolutely nothing.

I fear he will though.

Didn't we park the bus against Wednesday? :) It did feel like sitting in a coach park for 90 minutes watching it.

But in the end the wrong decision. Sometimes you need to take what you've got.

Would you rather us play well in this game and lose or even get thrashed being positive?
Or would you rather us stink the game out being negative and win?

That’s been the recent arguement
Wilder tends to be naive and plays open attacking football but really doubt this can work at Fulham.
If he’s positive and we lose heavily, then you can bet he’ll get loads of stick for being tactically inept.

Just realised that Fulham’s big weakness was no physicality and poor in the air up front.
But now they have Mitrovic from Newcastle, who offers something they didn’t have.
Maybe our best chance might be to surprise them and go at their throats from the off.
If we get an early lead, then we can defend in numbers and aim to catch them on the break.

we go to be entertained ,
never pulled up any trees with Currie and Woodward but went to enjoy the football

rather we are cavalier and have a go

fortune favours the brave they say
certainly need that in the play offs so get some practise in

being safe befores got us nowhere

Well, there's two sides to it. One is that losing away to Fulham isn't a big deal and the games coming against Burton, Ipswich, and Forest are all much better chances to get points on the board. The other is that if we aren't at the very least competitive with Fulham in that match there isn't a lot of point in reaching the play-offs anyway. We'll need to beat one of those teams sooner or later to advance.

I could take another loss like the home game if it were an unlucky, hard fought, attacking performance from us. If we get outclassed then that'll be the signal that we just aren't ready yet.

That's the way to go about it.
