Shit output, really.
That rather useless, 'can't function without large print on my tablet' footballer was on post Strictly and made presenting a football game look like hard work. With her was Browny, a growing legend on the tellybox and heart-attack-in-the-making John 'playin' for En-gland' Barnes, the people's footballing 'rapper'.
They strung it out even past the ten minute delay and we kicked off, thank fuck.
Yeah. What a game. Bland as fuck to be honest.
We can't play against negative sides. Newcastle were negative, walked away with two attacks and two goals and we struggled like fuck to carve an opening.Watford were exactly the same and came for the point. We seem to put ourselves under so much pressure at home and make fundamental mistakes and rely on the Hollywood pass. This cross-field 50 yarder can only be done by Norwood, even then only at times. Even when it comes off our avenues into attacking chances seem to be varied and reduced.
Saying that though, our shape is our success. We very rarely break out of 5-3-2 and looking at when possession changes to them, the midfield is there, no gaps, straight line across the park with the wingbacks ready to challenge if it goes wide. I was disappointed with their goal and expected us to score and score big in the second half. We couldn't. We possibly do need to buy creativity and flair in the JTW because Norwood, the anchor player, doesn't have this at all. He has one trick and it is 'ping'.
Out of ten
Henderson 6/10: At fault for either not coming off his line or leaving his near post wide open for Delofeu's run and shot.
Baldock 6.5/10: Again, a workmanlike performance from George and a well won penalty
Basham 7/10: Sometimes dazzles us with his composure and skill. Sometimes I shit mesen though.
Egan 6/10: At fault for their goal. Poor judgement.
O'Connell: 7/10: Another decent performance but limited on the overlap at times
Stevens: 6.5/10: For some odd reason our wingbacks, especially Stevens, were pinned back too ong and didn't provide the outlet we should have had
Fleck 7.5/10: Good performance and good to see him back. A constant, involved menace
Norwood 5/10: Think he is fading a bit. We need to possibly try Besic. Took his pen well, but thats about it TBH
Lundstram 6.5/10: Still not as threatening as we have seen him
McGoldrick 7.5/10: Still chases everything. Still no where near scoring though
McBurnie 6.5/10: Good header first half.I would have kept him on TBH
Moussett: 7/10: Fast and agile. We don't use his pace enough though
Game: Poor. Watford are deservedly dragging arse at the foot of the table and we should be taking all the points off them. They looked beaten and slow and came for the draw. We now have two games where we will potentially take no points and drop five places down the league. Shame to end such a decent progressive run with this performance.
