Shit output, really.

That rather useless, 'can't function without large print on my tablet' footballer was on post Strictly and made presenting a football game look like hard work. With her was Browny, a growing legend on the tellybox and heart-attack-in-the-making John 'playin' for En-gland' Barnes, the people's footballing 'rapper'.

They strung it out even past the ten minute delay and we kicked off, thank fuck.

Yeah. What a game. Bland as fuck to be honest.

We can't play against negative sides. Newcastle were negative, walked away with two attacks and two goals and we struggled like fuck to carve an opening.Watford were exactly the same and came for the point. We seem to put ourselves under so much pressure at home and make fundamental mistakes and rely on the Hollywood pass. This cross-field 50 yarder can only be done by Norwood, even then only at times. Even when it comes off our avenues into attacking chances seem to be varied and reduced.

Saying that though, our shape is our success. We very rarely break out of 5-3-2 and looking at when possession changes to them, the midfield is there, no gaps, straight line across the park with the wingbacks ready to challenge if it goes wide. I was disappointed with their goal and expected us to score and score big in the second half. We couldn't. We possibly do need to buy creativity and flair in the JTW because Norwood, the anchor player, doesn't have this at all. He has one trick and it is 'ping'.

Out of ten

Henderson 6/10: At fault for either not coming off his line or leaving his near post wide open for Delofeu's run and shot.
Baldock 6.5/10: Again, a workmanlike performance from George and a well won penalty
Basham 7/10: Sometimes dazzles us with his composure and skill. Sometimes I shit mesen though.
Egan 6/10: At fault for their goal. Poor judgement.
O'Connell: 7/10: Another decent performance but limited on the overlap at times
Stevens: 6.5/10: For some odd reason our wingbacks, especially Stevens, were pinned back too ong and didn't provide the outlet we should have had
Fleck 7.5/10: Good performance and good to see him back. A constant, involved menace
Norwood 5/10: Think he is fading a bit. We need to possibly try Besic. Took his pen well, but thats about it TBH
Lundstram 6.5/10: Still not as threatening as we have seen him
McGoldrick 7.5/10: Still chases everything. Still no where near scoring though
McBurnie 6.5/10: Good header first half.I would have kept him on TBH

Moussett: 7/10: Fast and agile. We don't use his pace enough though

Game: Poor. Watford are deservedly dragging arse at the foot of the table and we should be taking all the points off them. They looked beaten and slow and came for the draw. We now have two games where we will potentially take no points and drop five places down the league. Shame to end such a decent progressive run with this performance.

Norwood was our best player by a long way in my opinion, his delivery was outstanding, not his fault if no-one can sort their feet out to tap them in.

Only negative was the shot in the second half that went halfway up the Kop.

Norwood was our man of the match by a million miles. If he ever gets injured we are in the Shit as our play would go nowhere.

McGoldrick was bad. Norwood wasn’t AS bad as that but I too thought he wasn’t great.
Henderson’s fault for the goal
Basham MOTM

Egan was poor for the goal if he sits off and let’s him win the flick he clears it up easily.

Henderson was poor on the goal ,like a carbon copy of shelveys where he basically taunted them to guide into the unguarded near post

Just piss poor really

For games like mags and Watford at the lane where they've set up for the point CW wants to start putting Freeman in for Lindstrom 3-5-2 with more of an attacking option as the third midfielder

I don't really buy this idea that we've struggled against sides like Newcastle. When you play a team like that, sure, it makes it a really tight game and it comes across as hard work but generally we find a way to break them down. And I think we're at risk of doing what other fans have said about us with the "we've played badly today" when, it might be true, but you have to give a lot of credit to Watford for making us look like that. They got their tactics spot on at the start of the game, they left players advanced up the pitch, harassed our midfielders the second they got the ball, and it meant that our passing game got broken up and when they won it in the middle of the park they were in a great position. Which neatly takes me to what I hated about them...

They were doing well. Their players are nowhere near as bad as the start of the season performances have been. They need wins. They had a chance of getting one while the press and counter was working well. So why oh why do we see the utter cowardice of "We've got an away goal, that's enough football for today lads" and decide to start rolling around, wasting time, and generally breaking up the game? What was wrong with the thing that was clearly working for you?

I get so fed up of seeing teams play the way Watford did after their goal when they're clearly capable of making a decent game of it. It would've come with a greater risk of losing, sure, but it would've come with a much greater chance of winning it. And yet so many teams would rather wreck the game than go for three points. It's depressing.

Not our best performance today. Credit to Watford for that. Absolutely no credit to a team at the bottom of the league not willing to go for three points.

Thought Watford were far better than Newcastle and Villa for me. Their right winger (who got subbed with an injury), Delafayou and Ben Foster looked real quality to me. Think they’ll stay up with points to spare.

£30+million for Sarr their winger.

Deulofeu too, very good if a twat.

And Foster is outstanding.

Have to say, certain PL attacks shit me up and theirs was one of them, they're quick and play neat football. We should have won perhaps but a point isn't a disgrace by any means.

When McGoldrick plays well, we play well. Today he didn't play well.

So. What? You wanted Watford to press on with their impressive start and entertain everyone and win the game?
Weird

I thought Didzy played quite well but not a 7.5 imo Norwood gave the ball away too much for a player that can usually pass to players with his eyes shut. Mom was Ben Foster, again imo we need a shake up of the team as we look a bit jaded dare I say predictable but I wouldn’t do wholesale change we’ve seen that in cup games but I do think a midfielder is required to complete with Ollie.

Strange how people see different things. I thought Norwood was ace today.

Agree

Those long diagonals that Norwood plays look great, and are often (not always) beautifully weighted - but they're quite easy to defend against when they're in the air for a few seconds. Much more threatening when they're drilled flatter.

I thought McGoldrick was ordinary, we looped or over hit crosses way too often, and just didn't look very threatening. And fortunate as Foster was to deflect it over the bar, Fleck should have buried that chance.

That said, this many points at this stage of the season is beyond anyone's expectations. Just hope the away form doesn't dry up, otherwise we will need to start picking up more points at home.

Watford recognised that didsy was our playmaker and closed him down at every opportunity. Frustrating for all.

So. What? You wanted Watford to press on with their impressive start and entertain everyone and win the game?

No. I wanted Watford to try and play open football because it would've made the entire game far more exciting for both sides. Which would be easy for me to say if I felt like it hugely benefited us over them, but it would've benefited both sides.

Who the hell is Lindstrom ?

I know everyone is entitled to an opinion but your opinion on Norwood is shit. FFS. UTB

Personally today we missed the zip in our passing but Foster kept them in it the save from fleck was epic but he still should have scored
