They’ll no doubt point to the money the snooker brings to the local economy, guaranteed sell out for 17 days so restaurants, hotels etc

You are right and they will also add that the wider exposure hellps put Sheffield on the map.

They missed a trick though with Sheffield FC and the whole football heritage industry.

One of the things that motivated is to try and save the Plough at Sandygate, was the missed opportunity. Regularly you get Japanese tourists in a taxi peering through the locked gates at Hallam FC.
Sheffield club should be in the city as should a historical football museum.
Once again our Council missed a trick although maybe they were too busy negotiating contracts to chop down trees.

Sorry, please don’t mistake my last point as me disagreeing with you. You’re bang on, the council should make it a priority to sort Sheffield F.C. out and make it a tourist attraction for people around the world. A museum, heritage centre, the works

Why don't we let them ground share with us?. Get the club crest on the main stand and sell gear in the shop etc. I'm sure United would benefit from the publicity this would bring.

Probably because running the ground on a match day is a fair old operation

If only we knew someone in the local media who could give the idea some publicity and put pressure on the council to do something.

Did you post the wrong link? The point's obvious, I'd have thought - the lad's played 20 mins of Championship football all season

I read it the same way as BushBlade; a snidey put down.

You are correct re 20 mins but was it worth rubbing someone's nose in it?
You've probably ruined the lad's Christmas, Easter and next summer and he's probably on his way to Beachy Head as we speak.

Fair enough but that wasn’t how it was meant. It was a precursor to a discussion on the topic but none was forthcoming

Just been down to try and get a ticket in advance. None available, could be a bit of a bun fight, with only a couple of turnstiles, don't leave it to the last minute, especially if planning on parking anywhere nearby.

Looking forward to it, long time until Bristol, but why no loyalty points? (only joking).

Decent team in the Championship that! Wilder's a man of his word.
