Think it probably is this. Makes a lot of sense with the Wilder connection, did well his first season at Boro. More of a Striker than a winger, which I don't love as we have that with One. It may also signal going with 2 up top more often.
5 Goals in 25 in the First Division last season hardly prolific and aged only 27.
Why didn't Bolton take him ?
He even went on a pre-season tour with them but they still said no.
No wonder "he's keen to join us" nobody else will touch him.
There must be better out there than one of Wilders old cronies.

This ex Boro player who was loaned to Bolton............is there a difference between a contract ending naturally on the 30th June 2026...and a "live" contract being mutually terminated by the club holding the players registration..............i heard Wilder say this "unnamed" player had had his contract terminated.

If a contract just ends, it's usually referred to as the player being "released". Terminations are when a contract still has time to run.

CW saying this players contract was terminated suggests to me that their deal wasn't due to expire until summer 2027 at the earliest.

I really do think it is Forss as he is still in his 20's, isn't actually that bad, played for Wilder and is a grafter.

I could be wrong but didn’t Wilder say he’s just had his contract terminated suggesting that he has very recently left a club after a mutual termination?

That would rule Forss out whose deal expired at the end of June - I think?

Anyone got a list of players who have just had their contract terminated?

This is what scraps of excitement we're entitled to nowadays. We're down Woolies in the bargain bin, scrabbling around for a copy of Sister Act 2. It won't be great but it might work and it might do a job, and it's cheap. If you enjoy it, it's a bonus.

That said, we could do with maybe bagging two signings here!

Ideally...it's Benzema

(Realistically...it's Elliot Lee from Wrexham)

Has to be Lionel Messi 😃

Really hope the club has more than one "forward" lined up to come in. Our bench is gash. 0 creativity beyond the starting 11 and, bar a 10-minute spell today, that was non-existent. Genuinely feel like anyone we bring in will be a positive, as they will only have to improve on an unfilled spot in the squad.

It'll be an old man with two walking sticks who apparently won't be match fit until March due to not having had a preseason.

Bench is just ‘meh’ it’s an absolutely non entity.

We really need Chong and Seriki back - they looked threatening against Macclesfield before chong came off. It’s at least something else to threaten the opposition

Burrows being fit again would be another option to actually create something. Perhaps he’d be an option further up the field.

Can’t help but feel with the squad we’ve assembled 5/3/2 is the only thing that would work

Cooper

Seriki Tanganga mcguiness kitching burrows

Phillips hamza peck (or take your pick from the rest of the midfield dross available)

Donnovan
Bamford

We’d hopefully not lose the midfield battle every game like we are doing with a 2.

That's his excuse for today for BBD going off early like he didn't play at Derby last season, have a pre-season with Soton and feature in some of their matches this season.

People talk about our owners feeding us a bit of spin but the spin Wilder puts out is just as bad. He will convince everyone and anyone that it's not on him.

I was only thinking how typical Sheffield United this is - we have sold three of our most creative players. At the same time Burrows, Seriki, Chong and I’m going to throw Oné in there, as he has a wildcard element, are also out meaning that we’re down 7 creative outlets. No wonder it’s a struggle at times.

I also wonder if we worry too much about Donovan in terms of formation changes. Having reflected a bit, maybe we treat him more like an Ndiaye than a pure winger. If we went 3-4-1-2 or 3-5-1-1, could he be the ‘1’ behind Bamford?
