Foxy and Linz appreciation thread

I’ve just submitted my feedback to the forum and it made me want to go public with my love for this forum.

All hail Foxy and Linz for providing me with this space where I can spend time every day reading the musings of you weirdos. I’ve chuckled and sniggered more times than I can remember and I’ve seen some really heart warming support given between members. It’s great. 😀

If anyone is able to, I would urge a donation towards the ongoing running costs. Would you miss a couple of quid a month? If enough people do it then it becomes significant. Let’s make sure this great platform continues.

Say I did find some pennies down back of the sofa, how would I donate?
 
The forum is great and I am in much appreciation of Foxy and Linz for the forum, it is a great platform for United fans to discuss all things United and beyond and I reckon it must be one of the best of football forums in the UK. Serious question though, does it cost to run the forum? I thought any advertising would cover that, maybe not?
 
Those that appreciate this forum very much do and I too completed my feedback.

I don’t confess to know the ins and outs but there is a cost. If we see Foxy in a masarati at the start of the new season then maybe one could argue donations were a bit high.

The advertising is thankfully hidden once you log in so I doubt that drives much revenue as it would if they let it run everywhere. Which I’m grateful they don’t.

So, regarding a (potential) donation to the running of the site (disregarding that the account to pay in to appears that it could be (one of) Linz's personal accounts), what level of donation, for a tight-fisted, miser like me, would be considered the 'about right'?
(I'm sure that sort code is the same as a couple of accounts I have in the Caymen Islands!)
I have been reading posts on this site since the official Blades site ended, long before I registered as 'a member', which was long before I was drunk enough to post!
I just love the humour and the shared knowledge. We'll the humour anyway. So having totally ignored previous messages , or notices, to help with a small, kindly donation, I have joined the site this evening, unfortunately feeling the after-effects of a casual Bank Holiday Monday evening sess'. I thought it the best use of my time at this hour, before jumping on a train, in a couple of hours, to work in Manchester, to turn the laptop on. And feeling that pang of inebriated generosity, I thought I'd part with my train fare(!?!) and transfer it to a more worthy cause.
Apologies, I do waffle!
 
Being one of many on here based overseas this forum is the only place I can chat about United with people who give a shit. Keeps you feeling connected not just to the Blades but to Sheffield and I’m unbelievably grateful (to the tune of a few quid just transferred) for that - so I’ll add my thanks Foxy and Linz, you do great work.

I’d echo the same, on the website the Donations header is tucked away on a non visible link across the black ribbon on the right hand end. At least move it to the left where is more easily found.

I’ve just submitted my feedback to F&L with a huge list of complaints, member reporting, demands for changes etc. This forum needs a shake up or even a Tingo takeover.

Jokin’ it is a magnificent facility to discuss both footy and non footy related item, it’s a place where I get and occasionally give advice support. We laugh and cry together we take success and frustration as a community.
TBH I would find the wider football far less interesting without this site.

My only suggestion to improve would be a stand alone ”Player Suggestion” cause the Rumour page is not the place imo.
 
Because it has been brought up, there will definitely be a cost to hosting this site. There’ll be the upgrades to software, hardware costs, licences etc. It is very much appreciated what the admins do - it is much more than just a football forum (look at the Mental Health Thread for starters). With all the time and effort Fox & Linz put into this, and especially with 2 young kids to feed and cloth, I sincerely hope they do make some money from this facility……which reminds me, I haven’t donated in a while…ahem
