What’s that thing second from the left?

Everyone but me, it would seem. Thanks Onecellbrain.
Well, there's a reason you hold more importance in your opinion than anyone else does.

Example number 1, and please - try not to log off...
Of course. I've had a season ticket for 50 years. It's been very poor, but managers of quality have turned poor beginnings around before and will again. When football managerial history is written, there will be more credits in the Nigel Adkins paragraph than the Chris Wilder sentence.

Where am I guessing? I was making up a purely hypothetical situation and asking you a question
You're making out either Wilder got it wrong or Waghorn wants about 35k a week. When there's probably some ground in the middle where the truth lies.

No I'm not. I'm asking if you'd be happy for us to break our wage structure even if Waghorn was asking for something way beyond it. I didn't mention £35k and I'm not even saying it's true. Nice swerve of the question however.

Incidentally, what is the 'middle ground'?

It’s a hypothesis, not a guess. The answer is yesiwillgladlypayanyamountofsumdehelsesmunneh.

Something like being our highest earner, maybe asking for a 8k increase what he's on at Ipswich maybe?

Would I want Waghorn on double our highest earner? Of course not you tool. But I'm very much doubtful he asked for that much.
And if he did, why did we not just retract our bid straight away as we know that's pie in the sky for us?

We have retracted our bid haven't we?

How much is he on at Ipswich?

It's interesting that you're happy to throw around personal insults when you've thrown the dummy out in the past when someone has aimed them at you.

Deals are delicate. If things with Derby and Boro didn't go well, the player might have decided to revisit our terms. Nothing wrong with leaving things there just in case.

Do anything at all that will satisfy a relentless desire in some to attack the club they claim to support on whatever spurious basis they can.
You mean like... appointing Blades? Or giving academy players a chance?

Now yes. As of the other day it was still on the table.

One would assume not much as Ipswich have a small budget.

And when was this?

No he hasn't, he said personal terms couldn't be agreed. We don't know what scuppered the deal because we're not privy to that information.

We could easily have agreed wages but the player's agent held out for an enormous signing-on fee and a guaranteed start every week for the player, in which case we might not have wanted to pay a huge fee and Wilder wouldn't want to play someone out of form just because his contract says he had to.

Simple fact is we don't know, so it seems a daft thing to beat the club with when we don't know exactly what happened. Rather wait to hear 'His weekly wage was not what we think he's worth' than jump to owt.
Agree with that. Also if he doesn't want to come to BDTBL then feck him.

But surely Ipswich don't have a wage structure to stick to? I thought that was only us.

It was several weeks ago now, but it's incidental. I often find that people turn to personal insults when they find they've got nothing better to offer.

You seem to be getting upset about something which is based on a whole lot of assumptions.

No, they have a millionaire owner who doesn't spend money.
Who's upset? Just bored.

Doesn't mean we're hoping to sign 4 players.

One of the bids is probably for a centre back in case JOC leaves.

Matt Smith and Luke Freeman are our two permanent bids.

Sorce?

Freeman would be great but other clubs will be interested so we should probably forget it.

Smith would be uninspiring but I knew Wilder would have to have a target man.

If that's true then whilst I'm not Smith's biggest fan, he is at least different to what we've got, and the type we sometimes miss having in our armoury.

Freeman I'd be delighted with.
