JONATHAN Forte will become Scunthorpe United's second signing of the day this afternoon.

The 20-year-old winger, who can also play up front, is undergoing a medical at Glanford Park.

Manager Nigel Adkins has already completed the capture of Stoke striker Martin Paterson on a two-year contract.

The fee for Forte is not known, though his switch to Glanford Park is NOT part of Billy Sharp's proposed move to Sheffield United.

He has long been a target for Adkins, though the Iron boss was originally put off by the reported £300,000 wanted by the Blades.

Forte spent last season on loan with Doncaster Rovers, making 31 starts and scoring five goals.

His arrival at Scunthorpe will boost the Iron's attacking options further, with Sharp on the verge of completing his return to Bramall Lane.

think another striker to scunny must mean sharp is leaving????

Yeah best of luck. Don't think he was going to good enough for the first team.

So did we get the 300k or did we reduce the asking price as a sweatener for the Billy Sharp deal?

Reckon he will re-sign for us in two seasons? lol

Good luck Forte

Wonder if we've stuck the 25% sell on clause in.

:)

well when the rumours start of us buying him back after he scores 32 goals for them it might be a topic:D

good luck, i liked him when he first started out but he seems to have been drifted away from the first team.

He reminded me a bit too much of Adrian Littlejohn to be honest. Great at going past players, but remember the ball lad, remember the ball .......

Good luck to him!
