Wilder spent over 110m on just transfer fees in our two PL seasons.
We average more than Valencia? Surprised about that, though they had a shit season in La Liga.To add, our gate of 27,611 in the second tier would see us as:
Italy - 5th best supported behind Inter, Milan, Roma, Napoli. We'd be 4th with our last PL gate.
France - 6th best supported behind Marseilles, PSG, Lyon, Lens, Lille
Spain - 7th best supported behind Barcelona, Athletico, Real Madrid, Real Betis, Athletico Bilbao, Sevilla. We'd be 5th on our last top flight gate of 30,869.
Germany - 6th best behind Dortmund, Bayern, Koln, Leipzig, Stuttgart. PL gate would move us 4th.
We get 7,000 now more than Club Brugge, Belgium's best supported team and similarly more than Olympiacos pre pandemic.
So let's not get too much of an inferiority complex to Olympiacos or any other pub teams, just because they represent the best of a bad bunch, eh?
Micheal Ricketts tooJust being English seems to double their value, despite English players being so good that teams abroad rarely show interest in them. I can remember how funny Stewart Downing being valued at £15mil was at the time, and Andy Carroll at £35mil!!!
English players in the Premier League are massively over rated by the English. The rest of the world doesn't view them as world class, and haven't done since the Lampard/Ferdinand/Gerrard generation was around. Even then no one outside England wanted them.
Transfer fees are massively over priced just because they're English. Once they're capped once they're forever known as England striker or former England striker even if that's the only cap they received. Think of the former diving little twat, Andy Johnson at Palace!
we can live in hope that Wolves my loan him back out to us, didn’t it take a while to get Hendo back the second time. After our poor preseason showing getting him back could be the difference from being top 6 to mid table. If MGW were to sign for anyone I very much doubt it will be Forest and now expect him to stay at Wolves
How do you know anyone but Lingard/Hendo can cut it in the prem? Genuine questionHate to say it but you have to say as it is Forest are buying some good quality players who can cut it in the Prem . We all know how good MGW is if they get him he could form a decent mid field with the guy from Old Trafford . Quality always is best.
Anyone but ForestMgw deserves to play football, I'd be happy for him to join any club and be a starting player
if they get him
Maybe, however they are seemingly attempting to gel an almost completely new starting 11 together. In a league that is utterly unforgivable. The ‘downside’ of getting promoted with a heavily loaned team I suppose.Hate to say it but you have to say as it is Forest are buying some good quality players who can cut it in the Prem . We all know how good MGW is if they get him he could form a decent mid field with the guy from Old Trafford . Quality always is best.
Well Hendo did really well in the prem for us making a good contribution towards us finishing 9th and Lingard did really well on loan at West Ham earning himself a England call up after looking really impressive showing good finishing . As for their other signings time will tell to be honest I don't think anyone can say with certainty if a signing is going to hit it off at a new club but if you buy quality you tend to have a better chance of success and are less of a gamble. How do you know anyone but Lingard/Hendo can cut it in the prem? Genuine question
This came out yesterday or day before.. but literally minutes after it came out another paper came out and said no deal made and wolves had rejected a 3rd offer.Let's hope this isn't true.
Hope MGW tells them to jog on.
Why would he leave Wolves (were he looks to be in and around the first 11?
He's also never had a season in the prem. How good was Callum Robinson in the championship before we signed him? I think if he has a decent season under Wolves then he becomes that £50m plus player but he's a gamble at the moment.Wolves manager has now said MGW pricetag is now 50 million as he doesnt want to sell. Admittedly the choice coud be taken out of his hands if those above decide to sell but looking more and more certain he stays with wolves.
Good as he is 50 mill would be an insane gamble
It was £25m plus £10m add ons, but yeh I agree. Can’t believe they rejected £35m. Will get exposed in the prem
If he’s happy to stay at Wolves and they’re happy to keep him, there’s no reason to sell at market value. It would be bad business to do so.I'm quite happy to see wolves are giving him a go (hopefully).
If we can't have him perm then least the club that's put time into him can have him. I think he will do well and it willmbe like a new signing for them.
He's gonna have to try a few less fancy gambles as it's so much more clinical in the top tier but he has the attributes to be a good player.
Terms of pricetag i would have thought 25m plus add ons would suffice but seems Wolves want to keep him basically.
No messing…And I’d hire a party boat on the Trent, blaring out the GCB, on same day it happens.I really REALLY hope it all goes tits up for them and they get relegated and go bust.
