Forest bid for MGW

What you on about?. Yossi Benayoun retired 3 year ago , so I wouldn't sign him.
All I'm on about is the other day on Talksport they where saying you would need £100 million to get Declan Rice 😲 then I see this thread where apparently Forest have offered £20 million for MGW. (IMO) that is a joke, noway is there a 80 million pounds gap between these 2 players despite the roles they play . Some of the players suggested as comparisons are far and away above Declan Rice ability or skill levels and probably MGW,s.
So one slot left in midfield , Tony Currie if you putting up Yossi Benayoun as your example as they've both retired.
Actually pal, "all you are on about" was this...

"Both play midfield, not defenders, not attackers, not in the goals , midfield.
What do you want your midfield player to do , make and score goals or run around like a Spaniel. Personally I want a midfield player to assist and score goals"

That's a direct quote from what you've said.

By your own logic, Yossi Benayoun was (yes, he's retired, well done) a better midfielder than N'Golo Kante is now, because he scored more goals in less appearances and would therefore, by your own rules, make him the superior midfielder. Because as you said, all midfielders are just midfielders and all play the same role as each other, and goals are what you judge them on.

Several people, myself included, have made your points look ridiculous, which you've now realised and so you're backtracking and changing the focus of your argument to try and wriggle out of it.

I'm not sure if you're on the wind up, being obtuse, or if you're genuinely mentally challenged but if you're going to be this much of a tit through the whole close season, it's going to be a long ol' summer

Just to add to the above.

Does anyone think we will have offered 'something' to Wolves for MGW ???
I doubt it he is at a crucial crossroads in his career. If he moves on to a regular Premiership start at which ever club that might be, if it turns out good he could see himself in the England first team setup. Something we cant offer him in the Championship, its a thanks for the memories and good luck time.

If I was MGW no way would i be going to anyone who could be in a relegation battle in the prem if he could help it

MGW was amazing for us but i don't think he is suited to a team battling relegation

All those fancy flicks and no look passes , he would cost a team about 10 goals a season doing that

If i was him i would be running my contract down and holding out for a everton./west ham etc

Even wankers like Florist know a decent player when they see one.

Too much is made of MGW giving the ball away. He could afford to do it in this league because 9/10 it goes unpunished.

He was also encouraged to be ambitious and to constantly probe as he was our only attacking threat (except for when Berge woke up for 10-15 mins every other game).

He's far too talented to carry on that way in a better setup and would have better options in front of him in any case.

I think Wolves would be crazy to sell, but if they do MGW should avoid the promoted teams. None of them can provide him with the platform he needs to showcase his ability and he'd more than likely be back in the Champs next season.
As per previous posts; Southampton, Brighton, Palace etc. are the types he should think about. No less.

Would Cooper forefront the team that's got them there and use MGW as sub to bring on and up the game perhaps?
Zinkenhagel and Garner were on loan and so was that striker, forget his name, from Villa.
So that's 3 starting positions instantly available

Yeah, MGW would essentially be a replacement for Zinks if he came.

Think there's only a slim chance of it happening myself though.

Can't say that's surprising and probably would fit well. My main concern if I was him would be about getting game time. Would Cooper forefront the team that's got them there and use MGW as sub to bring on and up the game perhaps?

Just like Hendo - I've absolutely no issue with them wanting bigger and better things but it would be sad to see a talent benched and not allowed to grow. At one point there were mentions of Hendo being England's number 1, now I couldn't even tell you last time he played.
It was his desire to go to Manure (and a reputed £130.000 a week), so he has no-one to blame other than himself. Plenty of teams would buy him but (I suspect) not on this wages.

Southampton are also said to be interested
His other option is stopping at Wolves apparently they want him to sign an improved contarct

For me stopping at Wolves is a better bet than going to Forest.

But then I'm biased on the basis that forest can go fuck themselves with a burnt stick......

If he ends up at forest I'll be like.... Grrrrrr... grrrrrr.

I'd be surprised if Wolves sell. It's all paper talk right now.

They know Neves is going to attract interest and they know Moutinho is well into his 30s. Why would they offload an obvious successor?

Is that the Everton that were shitting themselves about relegation for almost an entire season & ended up 16th
🤔

The Declan Rice is shit comments are a joke, right?

The guy who captained West Ham to Europe again?

The 23 year old who has already played in a European Championships final, been a regular for his club since his teens and played 40 odd games for his country?

This is almost as stupid as the Mason Mount is shit nonsense.

That seems to be the way these days on forums. Players are shit or brilliant depending on what side you are on with regard to particular players. And often without facts or reasoned judgement involved in making the opinion.

With regards to Rice I think he is a good player that can become better. He plays as a defensive midfielder and has all the attributes needed for that role. One criticism I have of him is that in some of the England games he doesn't look to get on the ball enough and try to influence the game enough. His value is hard to determine due to their being little or no competition for him in that role as an English player. Would I pay £100m for him no. I think £50m to £60m would be about it for me.
