Interesting mix of opinion.

Seems to have underwhelmed when it matters, so it will be interesting to see how he responds to Wilder and Knill's promptings. Talent without graft is often a waste of a place, so let's hope we don't have another loanee who arrives with a good reputation but fails to become a fixture in the first team.

Dont worry hes a much better duffy alternative than woodworm
I think this is a really important signing as this lad will again put pressure on Duffy to up his game if he wants to stay in the starting 11, since Woodburn disappeared in Tufty’s mind as a playing option IMO Duffy has become a bit hit and miss so to have a proper option in that slot is vital for the second half of the season
UTB

He'll be better from previously been at Forest on loan in this Division...Woodburn will probably be more successful on his next loan, but having been here he will know what's expected...always best to get these kids on their 2nd or 3rd loan.

Forest fan who works for me says ,hard working ,creative quality attacking player with a great left foot ,we will love him.

I think we'll take that!

Basically, the loan signing we thought we had made in the summer, but with experience--and a proven track record--in this division.

Now please can we also have a powerful striker? If we can keep everyone else fit and available, that will do for me.

karanka is a weird one because guess where he learnt all his managerial expierence from, Mourinho which if he had learnt from him at porto Chelsea & inter it would be good but he learnt at madrid where good Mourinho was killed & tactically turned into yesterday man. got middlesborough promoted with a ton of money which isnt hard & then got them relegated when they couldn't hit a barn door

I bet sir Roy has had this ready to go for some time haha good work

I hadn't actually. Thought I had another week before the signings started. Let's be honest it's not typical United getting their signings this early!

To be fair you are right! Am I right in thinking you had the Hogan one ready to go though before it all went tits up!

Should be an exciting one to watch if Wilder gives him some freedom which im sure he will a la Brooks in some ways :)

It's amazing how some fans love to slag off a player once he's moved on. Had to have a smile at the Forest fan ' Think we've moved on a level from Dowell '.

That would be the Forest that are currently tenth in the division, as opposed to the team in fourth he's just joined?

If I recall correctly Fleck, O Connell and Egan all had some negative comments directed at them by some of their previous clubs supporters and all three of them are doing excellently for us. Let's wait and see how the lad gets on under the wing of Wilder and Knill.

Sounds like the complete opposite of the kind of mentality CW usually goes for.

That, along with no chance of playing week in week out I think this could go down the Woodman route.

We should not be getting any players work rate up, that should be a given.

In all fairness we do exactly the same to players who leave. Not all of us but certainly a good number.

The likelihood is, he is brought in for a few months to cover/push Duffy, and give us another option when Duffy doesn’t work. I wouldn’t expect him to start too many between now and may (and he will have been bloody good to lin down a regular spot over Duffy in that time!).

The type of player we needed, and I don’t think we should be risking upsetting our balance by bringing in a lad that is ‘in theory’ much better than Duffy, as it might not click.

Anyway, decent signing. Striker please Chris!

I'll stick my neck right out now and say he'll do well for us coming on to replace Duffy after the usual 50 or 60 minutes and helping us maintain our forward thinking momentum rather than the agonising defensive final 30 minutes we know we are well capable of not managing (not inc Derby game of course).
If I was CW though I'd warn him about not trying those hallmark back-heels too often in our own half of the pitch. I think we all know by now that David Brooks would have done a pretty good job for us this season, but this lad looks to be cut from similar cloth and if he toughens up his act he might just help us to put some pressure back on the top 2. We are more than capable of improving on our 38 point haul from the 1st 23 games in this business half of the season ("Deadbat" and other Blades pessimists please note) so sit back and enjoy the ride folks!!

Definitely, it's a regular thing with a small number of fans of all clubs. The comments about Brooks and Adams from a few people are evidence of that.

Worrying that some think he hasn't got the mental toughness. That sort of reminds me of both Wilson and Woodburn neither of whom wanted to get involved or to "mix it". You've got to learn to take a few hits to survive in the game. We'll see. If he "stinks the gaff out" as stated in one report, I hope he's got the mental toughness to go again.
