Apparently and I read it on here, it's because either Derby or Forest are at home and it's quite common for their game to be moved.

Both Derby and Forest are away.

I am struggling to recall a more non-sensical piece of re-scheduling.

Well thanks but does that mean the Millers and Chessie should permanently play on Friday nights aka Stockport County all those years ago? Seems a daft logic.

Burton is as close to Stoke as it is Nottingham (and in the same county) but that makes rock all difference.o_O

To be fair I have no idea because I have just checked and both Derby and Forest are away!

It’s all down to common sense.

Almost every club would prefer to play Saturday afternoon because playing a match Friday night would normally mean a lower crowd meaning lost revenue. Seems Burton think the attendance will hardly be affected whether it’s played Friday or Saturday. We’ve easily sold out our allocation.

As there’s been an international week, the players on both sides are fresh and no doubt raring to play.
So why not play it Friday, this means we have an extra days rest when we play Fulham Tuesday night.

A club can request a change but BOTH clubs have to agree it.

United obviously think an additional days rest might give them the edge when we play Fulham at home on Tuesday.

To be fair, that’s very sound reasoning. Happy to have the lads back home, before midnight most likely, on a Friday night having already played the weekend’s fixture if it means the fans haven’t missed out.

Clough likes to play on a Friday night, Burton have a good record in Friday floodlit matches apparently.

The Brewers have a preference for playing home fixtures on Friday nights and the game being brought forward gives Wilder more preparation time for the home encounter with Fulham on the following Tuesday.

I remember reading this and then noticed Burton mostly playing home games at the same time as everyone else. Maybe most other clubs have refused but coming after the international break this was a good opportunity for us.

although I seriously doubt “it’s party time in Burton tonight” would have ever been uttered before.

As daft as it sounds, I've heard negative nige likes Friday night games and would have done it with us if board had let him. They can move so many in a season. Apparently he likes to Watch soccer Saturday.

believe it's due to a wedding being attended tomorrow both clubs agreed to move the fixture.
