People need to have more awareness on the "metrics of success" for transfers. The stats are alarming that only 40-50% of transfers are relatively successful against benchmark stats.

Id rather see some hard stats on how wilder has performed against this benchmark before I judge him on his transfer decisions.

Use case - Lys Mousset. Contributed massively to our 9th place finish in our first year back under wilder but overall will be judged as a disastrous signing by most.
He probably paid his transfer fee with the goals he scored that first season....

However he did become a waste of a wage. But he is an anomaly. You don't often get players with that bad of an attitude. Wilder managed to get him going enough for several months though

McBurnie gets too many injuries. At the moment , without the takeover, we simply cannot take any risks this season. We already have Tom Davies out for god knows how long & who knows how long Brewster will last. I suspect that McBurnie is still wanted but that at the moment we can’t afford him. Hence the silence from both him & the club other than still talking.

I get the feeling taylor (or someone) is pulling the strings on these signings,
Cooper from Plymouth, Worrall plus another centre half, Burrows and I'll start to believe we could just make top 6
Just a old man's gut instinct but I think they'll be a couple of real left field signings.
Someone has told me taylor has some really good foreign contacts
I think you're right, someone , maybe Taylor is behind these signings, the way the club has jettisoned the old deadwood so quickly, something we should have done 2 years ago, then bringing Moore, O'Hare and McCallum in in a short space of time and others maybe in the pipeline tells me the Prince isn't funding it, ok, we have parachute money, but PA would have kept a tight hold on his purse and sold players first. Another thing is how quietly we are going about our business , normally Wilder would be pictured beaming with every signing we've made, but nothing, just announcing on website who we've brought in, whatever is happening it's looking good

He backdoored it and took 4m with him after weeks of trying to get the chairman to sack him first time around.

Was all for personal gain instead of being man enough to just step down as manager of the club he supposedly loved.
Yeah I'm not entirely sure how accurate this was. He didn't pocket 4m that's for sure.

However to give some context. When the Prince gave Wilder a new deal in Jan 2020 he gave him a 5 year deal. And some sort of arrangement of where he was some sort of shareholder in the club too.

We don't know how that all worked with his contract but there may have been bonuses etc that he hadnt been paid etc. (im speculating here though)

I think as well fans don't realise how things had been going behind the scenes that season.
I understand he had grounds in the end to suggest it was constructive dismissal despite him actually resigning.

Obviously alot has changed and the relationship is Ok enough now. He's also just the manager now whereas before he was involved in all manner of aspects. (Prince was happy to let him too).

For me whoever is in charge whilst they are here I'm behind them. Right up until they aren't. I may question them but I want us to do well.

It's gonna be an interesting next few months. At least we are starting to make signings and so far for the championship. These are on paper looking wise choices!

On his day Mousset was probably the best player at the club, and without his little purple patch in the 19/20 season, we’d have been nowhere near ninth. Shame Wilder and staff didn’t spot his excesses a bit sooner, we might have saved his career.

You can lead a Moose to water, it will find the kebab.

O' Hare has credited Wilder's powers of persuasion. It looks like he had quite a bit to do with that one at least.

I am as far away from ITK as anyone so I am not disputing what you say. This contradicts what I recollect PA was saying in his interviews at the time about trying to keep CW despite several attempts to walk away, when he could have reasonably made statements around needing a fresh start etc. at the time without too much flak from the fans at that point.

So if PA was spouting untruths about the situation the hatchet burying afterwards would presumably have been a lot harder as a result. Quite surprising we have ended up where we are now I guess.

PA interviews after were "interesting" to say the least.
Whilst he won't have been straight up lying in that interview he weighted that very much to get the support back onside.
I suspect like most of the time the truth was perhaps some middle ground.
It's true that Wilder did offer his resignation a few times that fateful season though that is for sure.
But there was a big backlash at the time after he departed so he wanted set the record straight and essentially do a bit of PR for him and the club.

Also constructive dismissal doesn't mean that Prince wanted Wilder out, more so working conditions/decisions/communications that undermine or threaten your position.
Coulibaly arrived on the training pitch without any knowledge for instance to CW and the staff. And of course took a further few mill out of the budget.

I personally think mcburnie blinds him at every level of the game except heading. And there’s not that much in that department
Haven't seen much of Moore, but I always felt like McBurnie would always have done well with a really consistent run but he was either always getting injured or suspended. Like for like swap I thinks lets us have a fresher look to the squad

Mcburnie better than Moore O’hare great signing especially for nowt

You do realise that, in reality there's no such thing as a free signing.

All the players agent does is say.......he would have normally cost £15 million.
So we want a slice of that £15 million because you're saving on the transfer fee.

So we'll be playing him a big signing-on fee and a huge (by Championship standards) salary.
Suspect there will also be lucrative bonus clauses in the contract the entice the player further.

It's impressive we've signed him because he will have had plenty of attractive offers from other clubs.
Suspect the influence of Hamer (reunited with his mate) and Wilders enthusiasm and plans for him will have been a deciding factor.

Regards Moore.....he gives us something different...so it's another option regards playing style and tactics.
I reckon against some teams he'll be a dangerous threat where as against others he'll not offer much....at least we'll have options.

Wilder has never held shares in the football club. That was a comment from PA about the possible future.

Hopefully Mcburnie will sign a lower deal and stay with us.
What’s happening with mcburnie anyway. Has he gone. Is he still around the club none of my mob know anything. We all sit and argue but non of us have got a fucking clue what’s going on with most things tbh

I stand to be corrected!

Still my point was that we don't know the full ins and outs of that deal he was given in Jan 2020.

I’ve no idea. I read he was training with us then after that I’m not sure.

The club waited for Southgate to leave England job before announcing takeover and replacing Wilder. All sorted this weekend.

Sorry that was a fever dream I’ve just had. Got sunstroke cutting the grass yesterday.

Let's face it, nobody knows for sure how next season will turn out, with or without Mr Wilder.
All we can do is put our heads down and walk into the storm....

COME ON YOU BLADES !!!!!
