Good job we could pick multiple options, would have found it real tricky to narrow it down to one

Brought back as prince’s grovel man (arse licker)

I'm now in the wilder out camp, especially if this Americey takeover happens and we're given millions to spend.

He completely under coached most players when he rejoined. McAtee was a shell of himself, Souza lost interest, he made Anel captain which was an atrocious decision. Bought Grbic and our defence was as leaky as it was under hecky. Holgate was a shit loan signing. I'll give him some credit for Diaz on loan and he was probably one of our best players since January, Arblaster aside.

He lucked out with Arblaster - playing a passionate United supporter and making him captain may be a stroke of genius but it didn't affect results. I'll admit Hamer improved but no idea if that's down to coaching or him getting fitter and similar to Diaz, playing to be in the shop window for a big summer move.

I'll accept a full season in the championship and finishing mid table with a new manager if it means a focused period of growth to make a challenge for top 2 in 25/26 season and whoever in charge to spend wisely for our premier league return.

Right now ….with no money (or limited) for transfer fees - Wilder is exactly what we need. If we get the takeover through & have new significant money - I would not trust him I’m afraid. He’s a fantastic wheeler dealer.

I suggest having a revisit to his many wheeling and dealing episodes on his last tenure,I’ll give you two,Rodwell and Ravel, there are lots more. By the looks of his demeanour on Saturday to today’s news,he had no clue what was going off and possibly no say on incomings or outgoings, who knows,it may become clearer by the end of this week.

Easy to pick the bad ones isn’t it…… I give you David McGoldrick & John Fleck….both free transfers
Yes there was a few good ones,I agree, and gave us the best football that I’ve seen at the Lane but there was a lot of shite brought in also. JOC got injured,We got worked out,and that was the end of Wilder. Huge amounts of money spunked for a club our size with relegation and resignation as a triple whammy. Don’t know if he’s going to be at the reigns,it didn’t look like it, if not,who is doing the incoming and outgoing. ?

He doesn't like "leftists"

I had doubts when he came back in, and I still have some now. Some of that has eased after seeing the tactical set up on Saturday, but if I see a back 3 in any of our friendlies, I'll be seriously worried. That formation was a disaster last season, and I thought we were limited by it in the 2nd half of the promotion season under Hecky as well. So seeing us line up with a back 4 was a huge positive for me.

When Hecky left, I would have preferred us to bring someone in with completely fresh ideas, over a man who failed when given a significant transfer kitty to do almost anything with it, and was seemingly incapable of trying an alternate tactical approach when Plan A got found out. But, I for now will be open minded over Wilder. Maybe he'll smash it with a few more transfers and I'll feel like a knob.

I get the feeling taylor (or someone) is pulling the strings on these signings,
Cooper from Plymouth, Worrall plus another centre half, Burrows and I'll start to believe we could just make top 6
Just a old man's gut instinct but I think they'll be a couple of real left field signings.
Someone has told me taylor has some really good foreign contacts

Jake Wright, Clarke, Didzy, O'Connell, Fleck, Duffy, Stevens, Baldock, Norwood, Egan are amongst the biggest bargains the club has ever purchased. There are others.

Even in the Prem we made money on Ramsdale and would've done and still could do on Bogle. We did ok out of Sander and Mcburnie overall. If only Moose didn't like pies eh...

We didn't spunk money in the Prem by the way. If it was the 1990s when we were there you'd have a point. Tell it to Forest and Ipswich fans...

I'm liking the look of the rebuild so far, but it's early days yet. It has the hallmarks of someone that has been course and distance and understands the league and how to win promotion.

Nobody doubts his past, it's his present and future that are the problems.
Exactly. No one doubt it and no one hates him all this list of honours shows is a successful manager who hasn’t achieved anything for 5 years.

CW was and is a stop gap appointment. Princes attempt to get some of the shouty fans on side whilst he sells up. Feels a lot like CE feels the same too. Waiting game he doesn’t have anywhere near the same amount of passion for the role, seems more like a mild inconvenience to him tbh

Look at the difference with recruitment already.

Our team is on its way to being better than it was in last year.

Wilder managing to persuade Moore and O’Hare. Exciting times.
Mcburnie better than Moore O’hare great signing especially for nowt

People need to have more awareness on the "metrics of success" for transfers. The stats are alarming that only 40-50% of transfers are relatively successful against benchmark stats.

Id rather see some hard stats on how wilder has performed against this benchmark before I judge him on his transfer decisions.

Use case - Lys Mousset. Contributed massively to our 9th place finish in our first year back under wilder but overall will be judged as a disastrous signing by most.

Stuck his bottom lip out and sulked his way out of the club like a big mardy get. There’s no coming back from that for me
Probably best to get over it. The owner has.

For others that are saying we’re back. Wilder hasn’t proved anything yet, his record was terrible last season albeit so was the team he was managing.

One thing that will and already has started to improve is the recruitment though. Brewster aside he doesn’t make many bad decisions when it comes to buying and selling players.

Jury’s still out for me & that’s me purely judging him on his current reign.
