Clearly we are in trouble. On Saturday we huffed and puffed and faffed about and failed to defend an ill-deserved lead. Tonight we were totally found out and outclassed by a pretty average side. Middlesbrough and Swansea will be in the dust up next May, but I doubt they'll be automatic material.

Henderson 6/10: Decent first half early save but has he straightened with the back four who is doing what at corners? Apparently not. Seems to be 'keeper material', but is he any better than Moore?

Stevens 4.5/10: Was great when he came here (for free) from Pompey, but is woefully poor now, both positionally and as a wing back. Tonight he was exposed and beaten for pace and scrap so many times.

O'Connell 5/10: I ask the question - has he actually got his eye on Brighton and a PL future or not? He's a decent centre back is JO'C, but tonight was either a message 'come and get me' or a 'don't sign me, I'm shit'. Either way he was barely satisfactory.

Egan 4.5/10: Again, both he and O'C should have taken charge for the first goal and one of them should have made Flint's job a fuck's site more difficult for the second. I thought Saturday would have been a tester for him and he'd sussed out where and what the fuck he was to do (and he's had matches before too) but he seemed fucking clueless. A word with my mate who speaks with a Brentford fan and he says that the Bees were pretty much happy he'd left and amazed it was for four million. For our record signing, he is now under a deal of pressure to justify that price tag

Basham 6/10: Tactically, Basham can be a revelation, but only when you ask him to do stuff outside his brief for the match, like 'play in midfield'. Tonight he was equal parts Bambi and equal parts Jagielka with a hangover and gout. If he starts at the back and plays like a poppo and you play him in midfield, he'll turn it on. Play him in midfield and drop him out wide or into the back line, he'll be similarly good. But ask him to do the job of the teamsheet, and he plays gash.

Baldock 5.5/10: Exposed and caught up the pitch/in possession too many times. Their third was his fuck up.

Fleck 6/10: Not sure if Fleck is also signalling outside the club. He played well tonight, but in a 'At number one, we've Johnny Fleck, at number two, we've Johnny Fleck … at number three, we've Johnny Fleck (etc)' He can't do everything, and seemed to be covering for …

Evans 2/10: Fucking useless

Lundstram 1/10: Fucking useless

McGoldrick 6.5/10: Seemed to be the only one bothered about the game and chased much out there with zero supply

Clarke 4/10: Crap. Not a fucking patch on what he was.

Woodburn 6.5/10: Think he has potential, but fuck me is he gonna struggle with the muppets around him.

Duffy 7/10: Definitely changed it for us and shows why he MUST start on Saturday

Leonard 6/10: Drifted about like a little boy lost. I don't blame him. Messi would have been too.

Wilder 3/10: Got it wrong. Again.

Really disappointed. Boro weren't all that (like last season) and teams will take points off them easily. We seemed clueless from the first five minutes and I was unsurprised we were 3-0 down by minute 25. We couldn't defend, couldn't attack and couldn't find each other with basic passes. What the fuck has gone so wrong since Sordell put that fucking tackle in? Surely we weren't Paul Coutts FC, were we? It seems we were. Wilder's acquisitions (or what he's been allowed to bring in anyway) have been wholly shit, with shit aspects. What the fuck he was doing playing the Chuckle Brothers in midfield (Lundstram is the dead one I think) I don't know. Why are we playing the midfield three so wide also? And since when was the bench instruction to start fucking lumping it up the pitch at every opportunity? The goals were a fucking aberration of positional and tactical awareness and were the stuff we used to do four years ago against Yeovil fucking Town. Just who the fuck is captain out there, exactly?

It makes me wonder what messages are being transmitted here. It's an old adage that if the boardroom is fucked, the playing staff will bring that out onto the pitch. That seems true. Or is it Wilder playing a game with those two bellends to say 'back me or we're fucked'. Either way, the fucking clock is ticking. Clearly, it is going to be a long and brutal season if we have playing staff likethis and a choice of team selection which means the hapless and useless Lundstram and a patently well-out-of-his-depth Evans is all we have to thrash out the midfield game where Championship (and Premiership) games are largely won. Some higher-level power play is going on here and once again, the supporters are left to tear each other to bits because of it. The way the club is set up now, McCabe owning practically all you can touch and the Prince entrenched in a strategic game of chess for the football team and neither willing to consider the consequences on can only assume come Thursday that Wilder has what he has - shit, uninspiring loans at his disposal whilst the riches of sell-ons and recent marquee sales go toward paying off the proceeds of past and current fuck ups.

And, get this. We get £4m up front from Bournemouth for Brooks with most of us assuming they can't afford the whole fee. Tonight they have broke their transfer record to bring in a Colombian player.

We need that money to buy quality players, because we don't have any quality any more. And the recent loanee input must be now wondering what the fuck they are doing at such a shit club.

Well, wrists well and truly slit now. But unusually I am not calling you out on any of it.

Not best pleased then?

Season is two games in … and all that.

The transfer window however is shut very, very soon.

We need midfield quality. Don't worry about up front. They will score goals if the midfield battle is won. 8 games in 30. That is wholly down to the centre of the park not being ours any more and us relying on substandard acquisitions the board believes will satisfy Wilder's bigger requirement.

Either we do what we said what we were gonna do (PL at the earliest opportunity) or we fail. Simple as.

We'd best have that quality playing for us on Saturday as well, and no fucking Chuckle Brothers, either. On tonight's performance, they should struggle to play in the 1st XI again.
