Hi Folks

Has anyone else receive an e-mail from the Football League asking for info about which team you support and a whole list of other questions about your club? Just filled mine in, took about 10 mins or so.. quite interesting questions asked, I thought.:header:

It's probably a scam e-mail and I've just sold my Mother or something.....

You can't have done. I sold your mother outside the Civic in Dronny an hour ago. Would have got a discount for sheepdip's flag too.

I usually get that sort of crap through - which interrogation was it?

Well... it was stuff about how good I think the FA are.. what sort of stuff is important to me.. such as fairness on the pitch. Also stuff about referees and if I think they are getting better, and questions as to whether I think technology should be made available to officials.

There was also a bit on eliminating swearing from football... I didn't realise anyone was listening... oops!!

This has now been mentioned on the OS: LINKY

United fans are currently in 6th place in the Championship table of completed responses for The Football League Supporters' Survey 2010 and any fans that have not yet submitted their views are being urged to do so now to help move us up the table.

Click here to take part in The Football League Supporters Survey 2010.

The Survey will see each Football League club receive a summary of the views expressed by their own supporters, with none of the information supplied being personally attributable to individual participants. So it is important for us that you take this opportunity to ensure that your views have been counted.

A range of important topics are included, such as whether you feel valued by your club, whether tickets provide decent value for money, what might encourage you to attend home and away games more often and what you think of your club's stadium, food & drink, stewarding and matchday programme.

The Football League Supporters Survey 2010 also lets fans have their say on a range of important football issues from the introduction of goal-line technology, sin-bins and salary caps to refereeing standards, football on television and diving.

Already more than 17,000 fans have taken this chance to help shape the future of the professional game - don't miss the opportunity to have YOUR say and give yourself the opportunity to win a prize to see the (Insert club nickname) [sic] train and meet the players in the process. There are also 100 Mitre Official Football League balls on offer to lucky winners.

The results of The Football League Supporters' Survey will be published in the New Year.

Young Players Quota's

From the Survey

In an effort to promote the development of young players in the domestic game, The Football League introduced a ‘Home Grown Players Rule’ at the beginning of the current season. Currently clubs must field at least four players in their 18 man matchday squad that have been on the books of domestic clubs for three years before their 21st birthday.

Is that why Quinny gets a game every week?

Leave my bloody flag out of it. Took me (or Mrs Sheep to be more accurate) hours to make - and it's not seen the light of day since bloody Wembley!

Most of United's squad will qualify.

They just need to have been registered with the England or Wales FA before their 21st birthday, no specific requirement to have been registered with that particular club.

I must admit, I wasn't aware this rule had been brought in. Perhaps because it has so little bearing on Football League clubs, who have a proliferation of English and Welsh players in their squads.

EDIT:

The Premier League are bringing it in next year, in a slightly different way: link:

From the 2010/11 campaign, the 20 Premier League clubs have voted to introduce measures which will see all teams required to have eight home-grown players out of a squad of 25.

Chief executive Richard Scudamore confirmed the changes, with clubs only able to make alterations to their squads during the two transfer windows.

"As of next season clubs will be required to have a squad named of up to 25 players, of which no more than 17 can be over the age of 21 and not home grown," Scudamore said.

"The definition of home grown is trained for three years under the age of 21 by somebody in the English and Welsh professional system.

"Clubs will have to declare their 25 at the end of August when the window shuts and then again at the end of January."

Players who are aged under 21 are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad.
