The latest issue of Four Four Two was waiting for me when I got home tonight and it invited nominations for the Player of the Division for each of the three divisons. For each division it listed a number of players from each club. Now I don't know if this was space filling or whether it represents a (long) shortlist, but it was kind of baffling.

Most Championship clubs have no more than 6 players listed, the exceptions being WBA, Newcastle and Donny (7 - inc Billy for Donny), 8 Coventry players and 9 Bristol City (!!) .

4 of the 6 Blades listed are surprising and can only be the result of a pin, a blindfold and a list of 6 players:

Bunn (Inconsistent, slow to react and dropped after a poor run of form earlier in the season)
Evans (Yet to find his feet and perform the job he was signed for)
Quinn (Words fail me)
Taylor (......THUD *falls of sofa*)

The other two, are Ward (shows flashes of brilliance and can ignite a game, but bad run with injuries and stupidly sent off in our biggest game of the season) and Henderson (massively under-rated by a significant number of teh Blades support and one of the top scorers in the division until injured).

For me, the two players missing who ought to be strong contenders for best Blades player are Walker and Morgan, not sure about overall best in division, although Walker has got to be one of the best defenders. Maybe he doesn't count as he has been on loan from the Premiership this season - I cannot see Cleverley or Wilkshere in Watford's list?

Voting can be done on the Four Four Two website apparently, although I cannot see a link when I visited earlier.

So who would your vote go for, both Blade and non-Blade. For me it would be Morgs and Dorrans

Blades = Henderson. He doesn't get the credit he deserves.

General = agree with you about Dorrans. Class act.

Isn't this done over the year, Jan 09 to Dec 09?

Either way its baffling, so just from this season.

Morgs, Killa, Monty, Ward and Walker have all been largely outstanding this season.

My choice has to be Morgs - just gives everything and gets better with age.

Whittingham (Cardiff), Carol (Barcodes), Johnson (Boro) and Dorrans (WBA) have all proven to be excellent at this level.

So I'll go with Johnson (Even though he was crap against us on sat)
