Football is dead

So the summary is the overwhelming majority on here didn't want him to go. I guess that's replicated on other forums and elsewhere in the fan base. The pundits will love having a go. I really fear the backlash.

No. I think he deserves a chance when this pandemic and injury list is over. By the way, I have been a blade for over 70 years and not seen much success. I think Warnock should have been given a year to try to put things right too.
I certainly agree about Warnock although he was, at times, just too embarrassing for words.
Even without hindsight and tea leaves he would have done better than Robson.
The wild-eyed, slavering nutter down the road whom I never sat next to on the bus knew that.
Shame McCabe didn't.

Wilder has never been sacked.......so he'll walk away if he doesn't get assurances for next season

It is a great shame and I feel sick that this has happened. Wilder obviously has, or had, a vision to move the club forward and it is obviously those plans which the Board do not agree with. The pandemic has affected all clubs and the sponsorship they have so financial plans plus cost of relegation has skewed all plans. I had hoped CW would be able to live with any changes for the next season and concentrate on football but seems like that will not be possible. Do we blame the Board who hold the purse strings or CW for not feeling valued or getting his way? Whatever, it will be a very, very sad end to the best five years at the Lane, certainly, since the 1969 -73 era in my view, and probaby beats that for sheer consistency of performance and entertainment. As I am 72, I just hope I get to see another golden era.

It’s over.
Can’t see me ever going to a United game again, or any for that matter.

Big slow clap to the board for the worst decision that has ever been made in the footballing world, if not the world in general. After they’ve thrown him under the bus this season. Useless

I’m out, it’s been a pleasure (mostly).
They're all nonces mate. Everyone of them.

I don't know who they are. But they're definitely nonces.

And if it was Wilder's decision and not the board's ?
It is wilders decision. Because of the board.

Wilders demands (“the plan” as he called it in interview) was that the training ground worlds started, we don’t have a fire sale, and there was no director of football installed above him. All very very simple and in the best interests of the club.

And the board have refused.

I adore Wilder. I want him to stay. I'm gutted he's gone.

But if you think one man is bigger than this club, then you're off your rocker.
Absolutely right mate. Those who support Sheffield United will still be there as we always have been, regardless. Those drama queens who'll "never go again" can go and get fitted for their green hoops or barcode shirts.

Chris Wilder, it was bloody great, until this season when it was 14 tons of dogshite, in a bag. Overall though, thank you, good luck in your next role, I'd buy you a beer any time if our paths cross, but Sheffield United will always be where my loyalties lie. Thanks Chris, but as always, Up The Blades.

How do you know the board has refused ?

You don't know how Leicester would be doing now under Ranieri.

Either way, I'm talking about their long term reputation as a club. They are remembered and disliked by most for treating Ranieri like shit.
Strangely, I've never thought it about it at all until I just read your post 🥱

So Wilder's Demands were laid down, and because they weren't met he's right to leave?

Do you KNOW they have refused these "demands" mate? I don't see a DOF installed yet, the massive reduction in income during Covid might explain a delay in starting training ground works, and where's the fire sale?

I'm not having a dig S4, far from it mate, but against the backdrop of a catastrophic and embarrassing season you would have thought CW might have considered a bit of give and take might be the way forward rather than "here are my demands, this is my plan, get it done or I'm off".

I know you're massively cheesed off right now mate from all your posts, but let's get some facts laid out, take a breath, and if it turns out he's been shat on then the owners will have burned a lot of bridges.
