Baldock was fantastic; his workrate was amazing

It was a close call for me today between Billy, who had a fantastic game, Egan, who I thought was immense, and Baldock who had his best game all season.

He was back to his old self second have. 'Fleckiesta' is a good name but his party piece is more like Xavi, the odd turning circle he makes on the ball, which always confuses the hell out of defenders and opens up huge spaces. There was superb example this second half, out near the left flank. He did it much quicker than usual, but the result was the same: one disoriented defender and United on the attack.

Lionel Flecki had been my choice for a while, sticking with it.

yep - agreed. Much much better from Fleck today.

Think Baldock deserves a mention too - much better from him - still a bit indecisive when in the opposition box though.

Anyone notice fleck clipping someone off the ball then shortly after getting a free kick off the same player fouling him but infront of the referee.. quality!

He's been up & down this season, don't know why. Ben Bloom has repeatedly floated the idea that Norwood being in the team is effecting Fleck's game negatively, as he is having to play more conservatively. This might be true as in my opinion Coutts had slightly better positional sense than Norwood, and therefore did more 'mopping up', sticking close to his defence. Norwood on the otherhand excels more at set pieces Otherwise I think they are about equal.

Anyway, back to Fleck..excellent yesterday. More adventurous and driving forward. Just like his old self.
