Seen he picked a yellow yesterday. He’s now on 9, 1 more away from a 2 game ban. We really need him now with Villa, Wolves and Scum next 3 league games!

We still have no direct replacement for Fleck.

When's the cut off date for 10 yellow cards bringing a suspension?

I think lundstram is more suited to the fleck than coutts. When facing the right direction forwards he’s a talent and with more confidence he’s a player. Obviously not fleck but for a game he can do the job

We’ll miss Fleck when he inevitably picks up his tenth Yellow card but I too would go with Lundstram in his place and let him play a free role instead of him having to do more of the defensive work, leave Evans where he is.

Bit off topic but I thought the carrot crunchers would have commented on him seeing as Robert Fleck was a decent player for them

Miss the cup game, then see if he can get through Villa and Wolves games without a booking.
After that run of games we can afford to miss him for a couple.

Leonard Duffy Wilson Holmes things aren't as they were although fleck was superb yesterday
I was wondering how he played, so there's my answer.

Fleck needs to work on his discipline a bit, at this level he's getting punished a lot and the refs aren't going to change, so he either accepts that he's going to miss a few games or he focuses on cutting out some of the avoidable things - like having a go at the ref. I like the way he plays, yeah he went to the Paul Scholes school of tackles, but his aggressive no nonsense approach really rattles teams. He's not a liability, his tackle v Bristol City was poor, but just needed reigning in a bit. I don't like this softer aspect of the modern game, but it is what it is

The footballing qualities Fleck brings far out weigh the poor discipline and if he misses a game or two, with the midfielders we have, it provides opportunities and i'd also say that he doesn't now walk back into the team when he comes back.

If CM's aren't getting bookings they're either incredible tacklers who can get it right every time, which isn't very likely, or they're not doing their jobs properly. Someone has to put a foot in.

Yeah i'd accept that, however, some midfielders pick yellows up for daft things or cynical tackles.

The only thing I want to change about John fleck is for him to develop a cannonball shot

Seriously though it's what the midfielders should be working on! I guess they are but haven't seen any benefit of it yet

How strange, I was in fact crunching on a carrot as I was reading that.

Carrot and houmous. It's really nice.

As I recall - Blades yellow cards were as rare as Hens' teeth under Nigel Adkins (come to think of it - so were tackles). On refelection, Hammond mis-timed a few farcical efforts.

There's one thing wrong with it. It's not a Burger.

He's a good tackler. He mistimes a few and gets booked but that's because he puts himself about so well.

And as far as I'm concerned if anybody can 'walk' back into the team it's him, and rightly so. He has more than enough credit in the bank. We don't have anyone else like him and he offers too much to be left out when available. I think they'd all accept that.

Our disciplinary record was exceptional last season, we had one suspension, Bashams high debatable red card at Scunny. It shows how dominant we were that we hardly had to do much ball winning.

Always going to be different at this level, surprised we didn’t pick up more suspensions when it was for five yellows, and look at Leeds! half the side seem to be suspended.
