Absurd idea, looking at Brooks in the game against Malaga he dropped a few clangers, all part of his learning curve but against better opposition he could prove to be a problem through sheer naivety at times. As for Fleck, together with Coutts, and possibly Duffy and/or Carruthers, plus one other, we have a great engine room. Fleck, along with the reborn Coutts, is the best midfield pairing we've had for years, why even suggest breaking this up?

Ha Ha In fairness Chez Vegas is really on the up at the moment and i think the next few years its set to really 'boom' from where it is now, lots of developments coming to Chesterfield.

However, you only have to take a walk into the town centre to see that despite being a very picturesque old market town, its filled with run down pubs and bars and lots of discount shops. Both of which contribute to the place looking like a scene from 'Shaun of the Dead'

So its a purely hypothetical question.

If we received a:
- 10 Million offer for Fleck
- 5 Million offer for Brooks
- We have to sell one, but we can only sell one (not both).
- Both have sell on clauses
- Both offers are from lower to mid table Premier League sides.
- The other wouldn't be sold for 5 years

Fleck, 25 (44 games, 4 goals) - Established player, proven in League one to be able to run the centre of midfield, great passer of the ball, starting to get more goals now and is at the peak of fitness and his career. Probably has another 8-10 years at his peak, so would see the next 5 years out

Brooks, 19 (0 league games, 0 goals) - Young, plenty to learn, player of the Toulon Tournament and a great prospect, his whole career ahead of him.

There are no smart alternatives, we have to sell one, we keep the other. Who would you SELL?

Yeah i agree its a bit of fun isnt it, i need to take my serious head off, but im worried were becoming a fanbase who just accepts the routine pre season weakening of our team or its potential through these sales, we havent got really upset in years when losing a player, we seem to accept it as our lot these days.. its a worrying development.. one day a manager will quit over it, especially one who wants to build something special..
