Have i got to get back on track, ok then..

Brooks for me, cause were going to be tested, and we dont stand up well when tested.. keep fleck, hes the key to stopping up..

I'll vote brooks to go..

I had similar ( drunken) musing's after the game last night when someone had mentioned the Bournemouth scouts were watching.

Except the £5 and £10 million bids were for Fleck and O'Connell

Now that would rip the heart out of the team...
Thats a very different discussion.

Spicing things up in the bedroom may be another option to stop these silly threads?

Jesus bring on season some people are seriously bored

As the season approaches, weve bought but not sold, this is quite relevant..

Boring as you say... but relevant.. and to some who'd love to see us build the team the accademy always promised us (and delivered btw), its interesting..

In answer to the original question: Sell Brooks. Potenrial is fine, but you're only ever one broken leg away it all crumbling away.

Fleck is the finished article so I'd keep him.

However, I'd trust Tufty to make the right call.

In Tufty we trust!

It's "silly" as you say, but there is always a chance, like last summer with DCL that an offer may come for one of the two. So wanted to test the water and see what people thought.

In some ways if Everton come for Brooks, is it that bad? Its different to DCL in that DCL hadn't had such a big summer last year. Brooks seems to be getting a few people excited. But if we sold him to keep Fleck, then is it the lesser of two evils?

Personally i'd hope the pairing are our eventual midfield two, we can fend clubs off a little easier now we're in the Championship, but with Walker going from a Rich top 4 club to a very rich club, then it reminds us that we're only a bid away from losing a player.

Hopefully now, the difference is that values of players have increased as our financial situation has improved.

So he poses a difficult conundrum and works in Iraq, dangerous stuff. But dumping him in Barnsley in his clarts is way beyond the levels of acceptability, even for someone used to a war zone.
Unless Pharoes (Barnsley's Premier Egyptian themed nightclub) is still open... then i'm up for it

Bleeding hell, there's a blast from the past. Back even further there was The Stables in't tarn, resident DJ spinning the latest hits (which arrived in Sheffield 5 years earlier) and of course the legendary Birdcage in Hoyland.

I would sell Fleck. Brooks couple develop and be even better than Fleck.

Yeah i agree its a bit of fun isnt it, i need to take my serious head off, but im worried were becoming a fanbase who just accepts the routine pre season weakening of our team or its potential through these sales, we havent got really upset in years when losing a player, we seem to accept it as our lot these days.. its a worrying development.. one day a manager will quit over it, especially one who wants to build something special..

There's people who lose their shit over fake, nonsense rumours of players being sold on Twitter. I can't say "underreacting" is something I particularly associate with our support!

Absolutely, didn't Spackman quit because of it?

Start of last season we seemed to accept Che and DCL going and in fairness we didn't really think there was anyone else worth selling apart from Billy and Brayford. So it shows how far we've come (in a year) as well.

Personally i think it would take a lot to prize Fleck away from Wilder, but its a matter of negotiating...Every player has a value, its a sad fact.

I think the Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire cash along with the Championship cash will do a lot to hold off any potential vultures, but it might also come down to where we are in January. Big few months ahead, if we're sat above midtable we might just push the boat out a bit and strengthen.

I smile with joy every day knowing we got rid of Adams. Jug-eared scumbag.

Correctamundo.
Actually, I'm wrong. The first line is 'I don't have to sell my soul' Which is what I typed first and then corrected. Why I decided to post before listening to it is beyond me.

I disagree with the 'take a lot to prize Fleck away from Wilder..' Fleck was superb last season and I hope he stays and we can push on to even better things. But he doesn't appear to be the type who would stay out of loyalty or because he's well liked or he has a good relationship with the manager. This is not a criticism of the guy I just think he would move if it was right for him, his family and his future.

I felt the same about Michael Brown. He never seem to take to us the way we took to him.

As far as the nights out in Barnsley are concerned I remember in the 1970's good Friday nights starting off in the South Yorkeshireman, Corner Pin and Old number 7 (?). Always got the train back to go to Samsntha's or Josephines

He's a professional footballer approaching the peak of his career. Of course he's going to want to play at the highest level and earn a minimum of £30k a week. Who wouldn't? He's not from Sheffield, he's not even English, he'll go if he gets the right offer.

I meant that Wilder would prefer to keep him, rather than Fleck having a particular loyalty to Wilder.

Joking aside I will be amazed If we don't receive a bid for Fleck from someone before 1st September.

Fleck as Leonard can cover his position. .........
