Can anyone else remember Barry bannon get absolutely toyed with 4 years ago against our midfield 3 (that we’ve massively moved on from) and you’re wanting to sign him? Surely you should be making a thread about how Paul coutts would do a job on a free based on that game? He will probably go to Salford as a marquee signing and be on more than we’d wanna pay him.
I’d go for James garner on loan at a championship side competing at the top end of the league. He’s quality and I think we may be the biggest club he could reasonably go to, based on the fact everyone in the prem will be either looking to buy their own version of him/won’t be able to guarantee him game time/already have a player in that role. I’d be happy with Garner. Goal scoring sitting midfielder with a great passing range and amazing at keeping the ball. He could be the one. Barry bannon? Not for me Clive.

Lunny needs replacing with a player who is good enough to start and has room to develop and if Berge leaves he needs to be replaced with a player similar to the one I’ve described to replace lunny. After that if I’m being greedy I’d like a 10 as well.

i think your right there yogi if berge is sold we need 3 midfielders in and still need 2 if he isnt actually think berge would thrive in a jokanovic set up if we decide to keep hold of him

I think Bannan would be a decent addition. Arguably he's closer to Norwood than Fleck, in terms of style. He has excellent distribution and vision, likes to play deeper and spot passes, but can be prone to poor execution of simple passes and can me marked out of games. Offers greater mobility, shooting and ball carrying than Norwood though.

In Wednesday's side he's struggled to make a huge impact the last two seasons, but he's not had much around him and the opposition have learnt to close him down and mark him out. Playing in a side with greater possession and other outlets I really think he's one of the best in the championship. That being said I can't see it, he's too old to add to an already aging squad and they'd want a huge premium to sell to us.
Anyone who thinks Bannan isn't a good championship player either hasn't watched him, or has a serious case of blade-vision.

Let's be fair plenty on here don't rate any of our squad. He's surrounded by shite, but most appreciate he's their biggest talent, by quite a margin.
Personally I think it's easier to appreciate players from other teams without any bias. Much like many of our squad, he was part of the best team they've had for about 20 years, and is now part of one of the worst. Doesn't necessarily mean he's got any worse though.
