Fleck comes back in, for who...

I'd consider bringing big Jamal in for the Bolton game.
He dealt with the aerial bombarbment impeccably at their place.
Not sure Moore has the same presence- or reach! Jam took a lot of pressure off the defence that game.

I think the threat of Jamal going back to Chelsea made Chris think hang on he goes back and we have Moore who is more than capable but he has no match time , so that's why he playing regularly now , plus you don't drop a keeper when he keeps a clean sheet .

CCV to the bench, Bash back as RCB.

Doesn't deserve to be dropped, but neither does Bash.

My reasoning is that Bash bombs on better.

Agreed . He's also a better defender too .

I'd rather keep Lundstram in the midfield than keep Basham in there. At RCB, Bash can offer something in our system that counteracts his obvious limitations as a footballer. He looks (somewhat understandably) like a different player in midfield, and completely out of his depth.

That being said, I think I'd rather keep CCV in the back three because of the physical and aerial challenge that Bolton bring. Basham isn't commanding in the air at all.

So, for me, I'd bench Bash, have Lundstram-Fleck-Duffy in midfield and keep the back three as it is.

Happy with any combination of Sharp/Clarke/Donaldson up top, as we continue to be able to create and score goals.

Just need to keep it out the other end.

You do have a point regarding the aerial bombardment that Bolton will bring to the table not to mention the physicality of their game too . But Tufty doesnt change formation or personnel to combat the opposition's strengths, he picks our side to play to our strengths. Basham offers much more going forward than CCV at RCB and that's why I think he'll start against Bolton .

Spot on.

We're a much better shape with Basham at RCB, not that CCV has done anything wrong.

Agree . We look much more settled organisationally with Basham in . It'll also be interesting to see how Stearman performs in arguably our strongest defensive line up . I have a feeling he'll be very good indeed .

Bash.
Only because CCV defends long ball well IMHO. He’s combative and strong.
So for Bolton game that’s what I would do, although there is no guarantee Fleck will come straight back in either.

A lot has to be based on the tough looking away game at Derby only 2 days later.

To be honest we should be able to beat Bolton at home whichever (realistic) team we put out.

Fleck does have to come back in.

A big difficulty is that it's a game you'd want both Basham and CCV playing in due to their physicality. So there's an argument for leaving Stearman out and moving CCV into the middle.

But if it came down to Basham or CCV I'd play Basham. He deserves to play every game and he's the most natural at RCB. He's done well against Bolton every time as well.

Then there's a call to make with Donaldson. It's a big ask for him to start both the next 2. Do we need him more for Bolton or Derby? Derby seems like a game he'd be more suited to but we could do with the extra physicality v Bolton - from that point of view his absence wouldn't affect us as much if we have extra physicality in the back 3.

Ideally you don't 'drop' players after they do well but the fixture list and the horses for courses element have to be factored in too. With that in mind for the next two games I'd go with this v Bolton...

Moore

Basham CCV O'Connell

Baldock Lundstram Fleck Stevens

Duffy

Sharp Clarke

Very tempting to play Blackman too.

CCV will be needed for Bolton's physical presence, I'd have Bash on the bench. I think Wilder will make a number of changes on Saturday, playing his strongest line up at Derby.
Most importantly, surely the thread title should be Fleck comes in for whom, not who?!

Thanks for that, I'm sure nobody understood it before.

No, you just made completely false claims about a player thats been excellent recently.

Well, what I actually did was answer a question that you asked in a perfectly honest and objective manner. If you don't like the response that's fine, but maybe try and give a decent counter-argument and be a bit less whiny about it.

CCV's got a bollock to drop every time he plays. Bash back to RCB. It's a no-brainer.

Fleck is our best player so comes up in for whoever Sir Tufty deems best.

Instinct tells me Basham as he's put in a shift recently (esp as RWB) and once he's back fresh he'll be back at RCB.

He isn’t. Our best player has a broken leg.

Stears and JOC are not up for argument. It’s whether CCV or Bash play at RCB. CCV did really well in the away game at Bolton against their giants and Bash, despite his height, is far from dominant in the air. It’s an even money call which I’ll happily leave to Tufty and One Knill.

That would be my choice Foxy harsh on CCV but Bash is better at going forward and we need that at home especially when teams sit back

Not always, think Stearman coming back in against Millwall to combat (or try to) their aerial threat

Thank God CW doesn't read the crap on here about Basham, needs a rest? not as good as whoever? what utter tosh . First name on the team sheet for CW every week, a proper Wilder player fittest man on the books, great competitor and despite what our resident experts say can play a bit as well.

Why is it lmokrtant to label your best player. I don’t agree with you but don’t see the importance. MAybe it’s because you never rated Fleck and saw him as a poor signing that you made that comment

The Shakey Jakies have gone a bit quiet haven’t they? The fair-minded praise for Stears’ excellent performance is a deafening silence indeed...
Do you actually think our defence would have been shaky against Sunderland if Wright had played instead of Stearman or are you just trying to be an antagonistic twat as usual? It's hard to give anyone in our defence too much praise yesterday as they had so little to do. Stearman is more of an attacking threat than Wright though, as he proved.

I'd imagine Fleck replaces Basham in midfield, Sharp starts up front and hopefully Lafferty is at left back just to give Stevens a kick up the arse as he's been pretty hopeless for weeks. Anyone who is a bit tired should get a rest in this one, but ideally we'd play Basham, Stearman, JOC at centre back since that'll probably be the first choice defence for the rest of the season.

How many yellow cards is Bash on , I’m thinking he may be due for a suspension?
Villa was his 4 now on 5 he's done better under wilder, bookings were his weakness when Clough and Adkins were here. He's been very disciplined since Wilder came in,it is possible he's feeling the strain but I doubt he we be benched, I bet he's one of the first names on team sheet
