Well I think it's safe to say after a nice little rest for Fleck he should be back in the team no doubt on his performances over the past 18 months, but for who?

I'm probably going to take some stick for this but I think it has to be Basham for me. He's full blooded and no doubt one of our top performers but the strenuous nature of center midfield in our system means a lot of miles covered and although I couldn't find the statistics he's rattling up the yellow cards again. Think he'd benefit from the rest and Bolton at home should be a game where we're looking to kill them with football.

CCV has got better with each game and if you watch his man to man marking and combat he's been impeccable with his speed vastly underrated IMO. United fans love a scapegoat but the last couple games he's learned from his mistakes and passes it off to Lundstram or Baldock frequently, think he gives us some much needed pace at a position where it's needed (RCB).

Think if Donaldson is on the bench for Sharp (a change I think likely after 2 starts in 3 days) then it's a different story because we lose the height needed from set pieces, but just wondered what everyone thought.

Fleck obviously comes back into the midfield to replace Bash. That's a given.

The real question here is what do you then do with the back 3. I'd play Bash ahead of CCV usually - but Bolton with their brutes it might actually help us to have CCV in there. From Derby onwards though it's O'Connell Stearman Bash for me with Wright and CCV able deputies.

Think over the past 2/3 games CCV been one of our outstanding performers, think Basham is tired and making unnecessary fouls all over the pitch.

How many yellow cards is Bash on , I’m thinking he may be due for a suspension?

Didn’t Basham get his fifth yellow card yesterday? In which case he is out for the game against Bolton and Fleck will replace him.

Basham wouldn’t want “a rest” he wants to play every minute. And while he’s still turning in good performances then let him. “A rest”can do more harm than good.

CCV to the bench, Bash back as RCB.

Doesn't deserve to be dropped, but neither does Bash.

My reasoning is that Bash bombs on better.

Defends better in fact.

Better positionally and a communicator too.

Never played 2 games in 3 days in midfield then.

I'd rather keep Lundstram in the midfield than keep Basham in there. At RCB, Bash can offer something in our system that counteracts his obvious limitations as a footballer. He looks (somewhat understandably) like a different player in midfield, and completely out of his depth.

That being said, I think I'd rather keep CCV in the back three because of the physical and aerial challenge that Bolton bring. Basham isn't commanding in the air at all.

So, for me, I'd bench Bash, have Lundstram-Fleck-Duffy in midfield and keep the back three as it is.

Happy with any combination of Sharp/Clarke/Donaldson up top, as we continue to be able to create and score goals.

Just need to keep it out the other end.

Bash had practically the same Bolton team on toast last season, they couldn't cope with his runs out of defence. Put him straight back in at RCB. This is the match we need to make sure we win and we should play our best team.

Derby will be tougher; they are flying and will be coming at us from all angles up top. Bash may well need a well earned rest for that, so going with a slightly more defensive option in CCV might be best.

Hard to drop CCV but bash does get forward better. Last time Bash got dropped he came back in an absolute beast and has not been dropped since.
Don't think The Don will be getting dropped anytime soon as he works the channels well and rarely gets bullied, as Sharp has been in recent games thus being benched.
In all honesty, it wouldn't surprise me if we see Fleck on the bench on Satdeh.

Wouldn't drop Bash, he's a blade through n through, heart on sleeve, and out of every player we have, Bash always tries 100%, he might not be the best player we have, but he does have absolute passion.
I'd leave the team as is for notlob, ease fleck back in, Duffy only does 70 (ish) mins, Fleck on instead of Carruthers.
I'm a massive Fleck fan, and he should be on the team sheet week in week out, but, Lundstrum has come on leaps n bounds and shouldn't be dropped, Duffy is a wizard for his 70-75mins and we need his assists, Bash back to defence would be the most logical, to make way for Fleck to return, but who would you bench..........im not a Stearman fan, but he played well yesterday and scored, CCV played well also, and JOC isn't going anywhere. I'm glad CW has to deal with this shit!!

I'd normally say CCV, but he has been really solid this last few games. As previously mentioned Bash needs a rest. CCV also gives us the extra strength to combat a physical Bolton side, CCV was first brought in away at Bolton for that very reason, played well too.

It’s now 10 bookings for a suspension
I looked that up when I read his post and it’s the 30th of November for the cut off point for all the football league but the Premier league is the 31st of December for the cut off point for 5 bookings with less games being played in the Prem, what a joke!

I'd consider bringing big Jamal in for the Bolton game.
He dealt with the aerial bombarbment impeccably at their place.
Not sure Moore has the same presence- or reach! Jam took a lot of pressure off the defence that game.

threshold is now 10 yellows until the 37th game of the season. then it's 2 game ban. after that it's wiped

Poor distribution, poor positional sense, a tendency to stifle attacking moves. Not doubting his commitment but we have better options in my humble opinion.
Yet you constantly tug off Billy who’s just as guilty at that as Basham is. I like both players btw before you bring the Sharp agenda against me.

I personally think it may be time to give Enda a break for him to think about recovering his early season form. His assists have dried up of late.

I'd slot Fleck in on the left for this one game but change formation if it isn't working. Fleck's delivery is good wherever he plays. That would allow Lundstram to carry on his current role without moving him around

The safe bet is Bash drops into the back 3 and CCV sits one out.

Spot on.

We're a much better shape with Basham at RCB, not that CCV has done anything wrong.
