We can't beat any decent team, as the last season and this suggests. Sorry kids, we're going nowhere in a hurry. Yes I know many will say, good, cos loads thought we'd be going down.

We are second in the Championship after a quarter of the season is gone!

I know, let's celebrate by being a miserable cunt and trying to show how 'clever' I am by writing something so asinine and blatantly bollocks, that I'll make myself feel clever.

An hour with you in the pub must feel like a lifetime!

So far this season we've already beaten the teams currently in 6th and 7th in the division, and walloped Villa, who, despite struggling so far, are very much a "decent" team in this division.

And we sometimes lose to the better teams in the division, especially away from home. What an amazing insight.

We beat Wolves last season.

You're not allowed to criticise the team or question why we can't beat anybody decent away from home

Deadbat does it regularly but doesn't get slated .

Maybe because he is objective and his first reaction is not to put the boot in, he doesn't attract the same opprobrium.

You on the other hand.....

The Championship is a very competitive league, on their day any team in this league can turn somebody over, Swansea (15th) and Bristol (10th) two of our defeats. Too early to say we don't do well against the top teams, the top half of the league changes after every game.

Don't you know the rules around here?

You're not allowed to criticise the team or question why we can't beat anybody decent away from home.

You will now be accused of supporting Sheffield Wednesday.

The problem is, the 'decent' teams change. Some would say Blackburn are the best home side in the league, and Bolton were doing well when we beat them.

The only fact at the moment is that we've failed to beat the teams currently 1st and 5th in the league away from home. This is not something worth being a bitch about.

Slagging us off is fine, but let's not chat shit.

Next run of fixtures will tell us plenty about whether we're flat track bullies or not.

Slag me off all you like, the results this season prove beyond doubt what I am saying. The fact that we are still second despite abysmal performances lie yesterday just shows what a raffle this league, this season, is.

We had a poor second half yesterday but ffs name these abysmal performances we have put in? You can only beat what’s put in front of you and we’ve had more league wins than any other championship club this season. Some wins are done with brilliant performances. Some you grind out. What more do you fuckin want?

Unbelievable crap that mate. Compare the football we played yesterday to the pigs v Boro game - totally different level. Yes 2nd half was not great but to call yesterday's performance as abysmal is pathetic. The football we played 1st half was only bettered by the 1st half against villa.

Surely the OP type of statement would make more sense after say 3/4s of the season when we've actually had chance to play most of the so called decent teams home and away. As at the moment we don't really know who is decent. We were told Blackburn were decent, as we're villa. We beat Norwich who are up towards the top, are they classed as decent? It's entirely possible boro, Swansea, and derby could finish midtable and not be decent at all.

The problem with yesterday was how disparate the halves were, not who we played.

If we'd played those 2 halves against almost anyone else in the championship, we'd have dropped points.

Equally if we'd played like the first half in the second we'd probably have won.

Who knows why we slowed down. I personally thing 45-75 was because they were told to, and after that a bit of fatigue crept in.

Still, it's plain to see from the games we've played and the first half of the Derby game (as well as watching other so called top teams) that we're one of the best teams about on our day and our day happens quite consistently considering our wins and where we are.

And just when I thought you couldn’t be more full of shit, you explode with the stuff.

Yesterday was a game of two halves. Or 9 halves if like me you're taking advantage of the seasonal glut of magic mushrooms.
Either way we lost 5-4, not 2-1. You could say 9-10 as we really didn't play that bad in the first 4 quarters and had a decent spell in the 8th quarter too.
Just depends how you're looking at it really.

Jesus it’s one game. Don’t people have other things on at the weekend so they can forget about our results at least after 24 hours have passed.

Sometimes football teams lose football matches. The world is still turning, the sun was out today and you’re (hopefully) fit and healthy.

And even if none of that matters, we’re still top two and we’re at home on Tuesday :)

You say that like it's a bad thing. I'd settle for losing to everybody else in the top seven (home and away) in a heartbeat. As long as we win the other games.

We’ve got to be realistic, we’re not going to win every game, but the way things are going every top half team are dropping silly points and nobody is pulling away from the pack.

Wilder is pretty shrewd and I expect us to finish in the top six at worst. The policy of going all out for a win, will I believe, see us maintain our foothold near the top. The three points for a win, compared to the single point for teams settling for a draw, is huge and a large part of the reason we are up there now

abysmal performances lie yesterday

Though we played superb entertaining football for the first 45 minutes, barring the first 30 seconds.

When you use the word abysmal you need to remember the Villa game for one and the fact that 22 other clubs in the Championship would love to play as abysmally as us and be in the position we are in.

Joint top.........

If we were to be promoted when we will loose more than we win I hate to think how posters on this forum will react.

Think Fulham,Cardiff, Huddersfield.
