Not saying it’s right, think there needs to be a salary cap in place, then clubs become more sustainable and less held to ransom by players/agents/skyI'll benefit but tbh if the money is just going into the players pockets and out the game the clubs and the sport itself won't.
They don’t care about remembrance as long as there are poppies on shirtsPigs game at 12.00 on rememberance Sunday is scandalous. Hope nothing kicks off to spoil the ceremony at the cenotaph.
The game in 2018 was played on the Friday night before Remembrance Sunday , can’t remember too much from it apart from it being a 0-0 draw but the atmosphere was quite subdued. To be fair to both sets of fans they did show respect when laying the captains wreaths in front of the away fans the captain and mascot of Wednesday did get an applause from the South Stand Blades fans. Either way I just hope that people to remember at the end of the day it is a game of football, yes I want to beat them like anything but let’s not disrespect the fallen or get into the headlines for the wrong reasonsPigs game at 12.00 on rememberance Sunday is scandalous. Don't tell derbysufc but the Holiday Inn on Hull Marina is one of my favourites and I'm there quite often as I have family in HullWould want them paying me to stay there!
I wouldn't. Much prefer Greece or cruisingMight have to convince the Mrs to take our fortnight holiday there instead!
What’s the scandal here? Is it That something might kick off on Remembrance Sunday? Might it spoil a ceremony at the cenotaph? Well…is that The league’s fault? Or would it be down the idiots who might kick off and spoil the ceremony at the cenotaph?Pigs game at 12.00 on rememberance Sunday is scandalous. The efl ought to take into consideration the possibility of something kicking off. During the ceremony. What’s the scandal here? Is it That something might kick off on Remembrance Sunday? I’d support a boycott until it’s put back to how it is. Not really bothered about how it’s nice for the fans who can’t get to away games can now watch. What’s wrong with updates on sky/teletext then highlights later, especially if it makes the match-going fan’s day easier.
There will 100% be a lot of people who won’t buy a ST next season based on this development, and no matter where you stand on it you’ve got to agree that’s incredibly damaging to the sport. Most grounds in EFL can’t get above 60% full as it is. Football is dead.
That's because Sky are broadcasting more games generally with their new feature:On Sky a lot aren't we? 9 of our first 18 games!

Sky Sports Plus launches in August to give more choice to fans via live streams, app and new channel
Customers can enjoy more than 50% more live sport this year at no extra cost; the scale of Sky Sports+ to be evident on the opening weekend of the 2024/25 season, with every game from the Championship, League One and League Two streamed livewww.skysports.com
No premier league fixtures that weekend so the rule doesn't standThanks, I'd not heard about that.
Says "on the opening weekend of the 2024/25 season, with every game from the Championship, League One and League Two streamed live" - I see all the championship and L1 games have been moved to earlier or later, but L2 games still saying 3PM on Sat 10th, I thought that was sacrosanct?
I can't remember the exact figures involved, but Sat 3pm kickoffs are barred from domestic live broadcast only if a certain percentage of professional matches are all kicking off at that time. Thanks, I'd not heard about that.

Good explanation but not strictly true. The FA on behalf of the EPL and EFL apply to UEFA for black out dates each season. This season the starting date for the black out is 17th August so in theory every game could have kicked off at 3 pm on 10th August but the EFL have chosen to split the weekend outside of linear tv coverage to three kick off times - 12.30 for Championship, 3 pm for League 2 and 5.30 for League 1.I can't remember the exact figures involved, but Sat 3pm kickoffs are barred from domestic live broadcast only if a certain percentage of professional matches are all kicking off at that time.
Using some hypothetical figures here as an example:
Let's say, for ease, there are 100 professional matches scheduled to be played on a Saturday. If 80(%) of those are scheduled for 15:00, then none of those 80 games can be broadcast live within England/UK.
As mentioned, I can't currently remember what the exact thresholds are, so the above example may not be bang on accurate. However, I do remember that the FA are given the choice by FIFA, to select two periods of time during a week, in which this rule takes effect. 3pm Saturday is one, and Tuesday 7:45 is the other. The midweek one in particular, is why when the Premier League has a full match schedule in midweek, that they are spread out across Tues/Weds/Thurs. Partly to give rest time to teams who played on Sunday or whatever, and partly to bypass this "no broadcast" rule.
So because the opening EFL weekend is only Championship, League 1 and League 2, those divisions all have separate kickoff times. League 2 is unchanged, League 1 is Sat 17:30, and the Championship has games spread out across Friday-Monday. Though the majority are 12:30 on the Saturday, there are 2 on Friday (us included of course), one on Sunday (the grunters) and one more on Monday (Burnley v Luton).
Cheers for the correction. Been a while since I heard about the blackout stuff, so this is greatly appreciated.Good explanation but not strictly true. There are dates in the season when the black out also does not take place - invariably these are the international break weekends (hence you will still get a League 1 or League 2 game being shown on linear tv at 3 pm).
I agree the only day we mark our fallen heroes and the E F L and sky have to ruin it.If it was not for the heroes they would not be able to do this and have free speech because we would be under dictatorship rant overRemembrance Sunday is a very important event for a lot of people, myself included. Making the kick off 12pm is a disgraceful decision and it needs to be changed.
You reckon that if we had a dictator there wouldn’t be any football? Or that only countries with “free speech” have football? You know China, North Korea and (insert country here according to your political prejudices) do have football?I agree the only day we mark our fallen heroes and the E F L and sky have to ruin it.If it was not for the heroes they would not be able to do this and have free speech because we would be under dictatorship rant over
