In today's game you aren't allowed to be slightly late to the ball, simple as that. Soumare was unfortunate but it was his bad touch and slight late reaction that caused the foul. Looked really nasty and although it obviously wasn't intentional, you don't get away with it nowadays, and even more so with a cunt of a referee, looking to be the centre of attention.

The second one? Give me a break, he couldn't fucking wait to get the card out because Tanganga had the audacity to have a chirp at him after the first one. For me, take a minute, see if the player's injured and if not, a yellow at worst. On this occasion there wasn't a mark on him, not even a hair out of place but silly bollocks had already decided that he'd ruin the game and will probably go home after, thinking what a great job he's done.

Killed the game, another one where it's more like pantomime than sport. Fucking ridiculous.

Yet their player doesn’t even get a yellow for a studs up challenge on Sam Mac

I don’t think we can argue much with either - Tanganga was on a yellow anyway for daring to talk to the ref, and I reckon the challenge was probably a yellow in its own right.

Danny Hall on co comms is very annoying, laying into Soumare. He obviously doesn’t like him. Sometimes a red card is right and just one of those things.

Can you see us appealing both red cards? All, what are the chances either -or- both get overturned…?

There were no blades yellows in the first half

An injury, even a bad one, doesn't make a challenge a foul, a booking or a red card.

Tanganga wasn't on a yellow. None of our players have had a yellow card yet.

I've only seen the clips on Twitter, but it certainly looks like he leads with his forearm into the back of Carey's head. VAR upholds the decision (or overturns if it had been let go).

Agree with you on Soumaré, clumsy but not malicious. The unfortunate thing is both will be serious foul play so 3 match bans.

The ref took a dislike to Tanganga because he questioned his decision, mardy little bastard couldn't hack that and the speed with which he got the card out said it all.

Danny Hall is to commentary what he is to reporting and book writing, enough said.

If tanganga did forearm smash him at that pace, the player wouldn't have got back up

Yep...and neither does a player need to be hurt or injured for the fouling player to be justifiably red carded

Well then let's send every player off in every game for every mistimed tackle. Should be great watching seven versus seven. And by that same token the foul on McCallum should have seen a sending off, he didn't get injured but their player left his foot in with studs showing.

There's nowhere in the laws of the game that stipulate that.

If a player punches another in the face, the ref doesn't have to see if the other player is hurt to decide if it's a red or not.

The ref's attitude is shocking. I just watched the key incidents back on SUTV and after the foul on McCallum Tanganga goes to have a word with him (as captain) and lipreading he clearly says "have you finished yet? now go away!". Similar interaction after the Soumaré red where he obviously thinks Tanganga's invading his personal space and tells him to back off and calm down. In my opinion these interactions clouded his judgment on the second red and he couldn't wait to whip out the red.

1st minute of the game he’s pulled Tanganga up on an attacking corner. Then he’s not sent their player off or awarded a penalty for a blatant foul on Bamford.

He’s also given them a goal kick when the defender clearly slide tackled Seriki in front of the linesman.

The Soumare one was on a par with the challenge on McCallum. Tanganga was sent off because the ref was given the opportunity after he’d accused the ref of pushing him (Tanganga was clearly telling Langford not to put his hands on him after the Soumare red).

Overall it was a complete clusterfuck of a refereeing performance and it completely killed the game. I’d be going nuts if I were Wilder.

That said if we were 3 or 4 nil up like we should have been none of that would have happened.

If a player punches another in the face, the ref doesn't have to see if the other player is hurt to decide if it's a red or not.

And if a player mistimes a tackle it shouldn't automatically be a red. It wasn't when McCallum was on the receiving end.

I see us appealing Tangangas, ive not seen it back but it didnt even look a yellow in real time. Referee had his card out before their lad even fell to ground.

Id hope we appeal anyway, I would for it. And it should be overturned.

I dont think we would appeal for the first one, just beacuse he made contact high up on the standing leg, which wasnt intentional and he had nowhere else his foot could have gone, they would reject it on grounds of reckless/out of control/dangerous play/overly aggressive - take ya pick. I personally think it only warranted a strong yellow but thats my opinion & I am more old fashioned & prefer to see proper tackles none of this pussy footing about.

I’d appeal it on principle now, it’s not going to end our season if he gets another game added on as we’ve got nothing to play for.
