I do wish people wouldn't use the word "excellently" - there used to be no such word in the English language. It's found it's way into our vernacular as a result of illiterate journalists, in particular, sports presenters on Radio Sheffield, with flat Yorkshire accents, who have, through ignorance, taken a good adjective, like "excellent", and turned it into an adverb.

Apologies. I'll be sure to use a word that's more to your liking next time.

Agree. But I do wish people wouldn't use the word "excellently" - there used to be no such word in the English language. 'Taken with excellence', perhaps?

I understand your frustration, but language is always developing and evolving, whether we like it or not. Words is like well wikid innit.

I was shouting at the telly from about the 50th minute saying this game needs Brooks! We had dominated the first half and they came back into it. The opening stages of the second half the game settled into a bit of nothingness and was in the balance, we were dictating the play a little bit less and they were growing in confidence. I said to my old man, "put Brooks on now and they won't know what's hit them".

The lad didn't disappoint. What a talent.
